Basic Vegetable Soup

I add a ton of veggies like peppers, onions, celery, carrots, peas, brocolli, water chestnuts,Spinach and Kale to mine and make my own stock. I have never used salt and never needed to. Sweet peppers actually add a nice flavor to the soup. I also use a large sweet potato instead of a white potato. Alot healthier!!

request: recipe for cornbread stuffing

Does anyone have a homemade recipe for cornbread stuffing. Had it years ago down south and after coming back up north, I just haven't found the right recipe. Help!

Stainless steel fry pan - how to fry eggs without them sticking!!

I rub the inside of my stainless steel pans every couple of months and I don't need to crank the heat to high to get results I want. Found the lower temp and routine oil has kept food from sticking.

is a 12" fry pan too big to use on an 8" electric burner?

I did try it. Knew it wouldn't work but I did try it. Traded with someone else for a 10" so we're both happy! Thanks again!

is a 12" fry pan too big to use on an 8" electric burner?

I tried it and it didn't heat evenly at all. Didn't need to try it to know that much. Doesn't matter though as I've found a dear friend who loves the 12" fry pan. We traded fry pans so we're both happy. Big thanks to all those who tried to help me. I appreciate it!! I apologize for posting it in the wrong section. I'm learning :)

Question about stainless fry pans (do I need them)

I bought American Kitchen cookware which is completely all stainless steel. I don't have a problem with sticking as I coat them with a thin layer or oil before using them and only have to do them again every couple of months. Do not use spray on oil like PAM. It doesn't work using that type of product. I just take Olive Oil and after the pots are initially washed and ready to use, then I apply the oil. With stainless you don't need to use high heat and med. heat is about as high as you' ll need to use. Just love these pots and pans. Don't trust the non stick finishes based on prior purchases over the years.

kitchen utensils made in the USA

Actually, anything of great quality NOT made in China. I'm trying to buy products from the USA. I apparently first posted this question in the wrong section. I am new to this so thanks for the redirection.

These are the american made products I am hoping to find and hope someone out there can help me.
slotted spoons
spaghetti spoon
measuring cups and spoons

pie slicer ( was recently told Lamson & Goodman)

If anyone knows "where" I could find these american made utensils, please let me know. Thank you!

Finding kitchen stuff made in the usa

I'm trying to incorporate more made in the USA products so the money I spend stays here in America. Of course, I'm looking to buy quality products and will pay the money if it's good quality. I have found American Kitchen cookware which is excellent, just love it! All my glass is Anchor or Pyrex BUT need info from you out there as to where I can find these things made in the USA:

soup ladle
slotted spoons
pie slicer
spaghetti spoon
measuring cups and spoons

I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks everyone!!!

is a 12" fry pan too big to use on an 8" electric burner?

Ok, everyone. Thanks for all the input, really. BUT, do I keep the 12" completely stainless steel fry pan (American Kitchen ) or find it a better "home". Like I said earlier, even buying a new stove to fit our kitchen, I'm still looking at one 8" burner and three 6" burner (electric heating elements). Is this pan worth saving or is it going to end up sitting in the hutch for eternity collecting dust??

yes, 12" is across the top and the sides do flare out slightly. Diameter is 10" at the base. Stainless steel construction.

is a 12" fry pan too big to use on an 8" electric burner?

I bought a new set of cookware from American Kitchen. It included a 12inch fry pan but my biggest burner is only 8 inches across. It's too small so I'm left asking the question about using it on stove top. I'd hate to get rid of the fry pan. I've looked at newer electric stoves but they all had one burner at 8 inches and the rest at 6 inches. Any suggestions??

Baking with Sugar Substitutes

It certainly was hilarious to read!! I use Stevia in my coffee but now I know not to try it in cookies, etc. I usually use less sugar than the recipe calls for and ya, I do substitute applesauce to make them sweeter.
