What is so great about grilling?? (... help!?)

I haven't had much luck with cooking fish on the grill because it falls apart. But I just saw a video on Youtube where the guy did his fish in a cast iron skillet on the grill.

I thought about the sugar too. I decided that because the cake is sweet anyway, the cocoa powder may make it a bit less sweet, but not enough to worry about the sugar.

Yes I want to make the pound cake chocolate. I make classic and 7-Up pound cake often, and just wanted to do something different. So should I exchange the proportions of cocoa and flour exactly? I plan to start with 1/4 cup of cocoa powder.

Leg of lamb for Easter Sunday

My friend had a holiday party. There was a lot of Honeybaked ham left over from a whole ham. He asked the last guest if he'd like to take some home, they guy said yes. My friend went to the kitchen for foil and when he returned, the guy had wrapped up the entire ham and was standing by the door ready to leave. My friend let him take it and 10 years later, we're still laughing about it.

I'm not sure if I need to do something to the cocoa powder before adding it. Any tips on how much I should add would be very helpful. Also should I dust the chocolate chips with flour before adding? Sometimes they sink to the bottom. I am using a classic pound cake recipe so the batter is very thick.

Misleading Names of Certain Preparations

I think once bbq sauce is added, it's called bbq beef, pork, etc. Although not everyone likes barbecue sauce on their barbecued meat. The other thing people confuse is barbecued meat vs grilled.

I've always known headcheese as hog headcheese. But there's nothing cheese-like about it.

Not sure if your post is about how you felt, how little you appreciated his efforts or what. Anyway, the meal looks incredibly delicious.

What food have you lost a taste for?

I believe you, but I cannot imagine getting sick of a roasted chicken. How much did you eat?

What food have you lost a taste for?

Same here with the banana. As a child I loved them but I'd have to be really hungry with nothing else in the house before I'd eat a fresh one now. But I still adore the taste of banana in desserts, or if they're in a banana pudding, Funny thing how our tastes change.

What food have you lost a taste for?

Sardines. I used to love to mash them up, add a little mustard, and scoop it out of the bowl with a Ritz cracker. Tried it a few months ago, and it was over for me.

Quality and storing spices?

No, the loaf was hot when I bought it. I used it within hours, so it was very fresh.

Quality and storing spices?

I was thinking about getting some at Penzey's. I have no problem paying more for a good spice but I'd like it to last longer if I pay more. I just may be asking for too much out of a garlic powder! Nutmeg and cinnamon are two spices where I can tell there is a distinctive difference by quality. But because I don't use them regularly, I store them in a ziplock bag and refrigerate them.

Garlic powder is definitely different in flavor from fresh garlic.

Quality and storing spices?

The reason I don't work with fresh garlic the way you described is because the fresh is a bit too garlicky for me. I actually like using the fresh minced that comes in a jar. But the shelf life is very short.

Quality and storing spices?

I bought the Kroger brand garlic powder about 7 months ago. When I sprinkled it on french bread (a few weeks ago) there was very little to no garlic flavor. So, does the brand of garlic powder really matter, or could it be because it was stored in my pantry that it lost it's flavor? Would a more expensive brand retain it's flavor longer?

Where to buy orange roughy or sea bass?

I have friends who hate fish too. None of them will let a piece of fish come anywhere near their mouths. Believe me, if you really hated fish, you wouldn't be able to eat any type.

I had no idea Amy's sold meat. I think of school tours and produce when I think of this farm. I know people who buy goat from a farm(s) in the area.
