Jenkins & definitely order the PEACH COBBLER! Another hidden gem is The Postcards Lounge at The Pelican Grande on Fort Lauderdale Beach (you can eat oceanside on the covered porch in the rocking chairs). High-style, very reasonable - where I take all my out-of-town-visitors! Old-fashioned ice cream shoppe on promises, but not as reasonable as the lounge menu. The actual restaurant is pricey, don't check that out unless you want to pay more. When you walk in, go to your LEFT to the lounge, get some menus and find your rocking chairs on the porch! ENJOY THE VIEW & THE FOOD. :) Sometimes there's free popcorn too! |

Really, really, really good chicken wings? Almost forgot about these: |

Have not tried Landlubbers yet - I'm from Buffalo and try wings everywhere I go - I REALLY hope they measure up, I'm craving for the real deal! |

9 miles south on US1 is a great place called Soyka. Casual yet upscale, well-priced, delicious food, attentive staff, live jazz on weekend. There is a great unique outside pizza place across the way from it called Andiamo too. There is also a sushi restaurant on the same block as Soyka. So, if you can't decide it's the perfect place for everyone to get what they want - it's worth the trip. |

Really, really, really good chicken wings? I think I was given a chicken wing in my crib instead of a pacifier - YES, I am a Buffalo, NY native! There are 5 things that constitute a true "Buffalo" wing: 1) No breading, flour or coating of ANY kind before deep frying (naked) Here are the places I've found over 16 years that come close to above: |

Sasaya Sushi in the Gateway Plaza right where US1 turns north at Sunrise Blvd. Great staff, great prices and great sushi too! |

Best lunch (on cheaper side) with water view in Ft. Lauderdale HIDDEN GEM! Every family member that visits and anyone who comes to Ft. Lauderdale and asks for a casual, affordable, but upscale meal with a view, always gets the same answer - The Pelican Grand Beach Resort on Fort Lauderdale Beach. Get your food served right on the rocking chairs on their covered porch with an ocean view no matter what the weather is like from their lounge (not the restaurant). There is an old fashioned ice cream parlor right in the building too. Take quarters, there is only metered parking. |
