Best Sushi in NOLA?

KittCat84 , i live in Biloxi MS and we have about 12 sushi joints within 20 miles of me and i drive 1 1/2 hours one way just to eat at Rock-n-Sake. i love it. some of my favorite rolls are lsu roll, fulton street roll, Hawaiian roll. they also have about 3 or 4 rolls that are special rolls each day so ask what they are. we had one that had blue cheese in it that was really good it was called the blue brees roll named after drew brees the Saints QB. have fun and be safe.

spicy grilled pork ribs with watermelon pickle $9
paneed pork cheeks with goat cheese arugula & beet rösti
smoked beef brisket with horseradish potato salad
oyster & bacon sandwich
oven-roasted gulf fish “fisherman’s style” {when i went it was red fish and it was the best red fish i have ever had}

F/Q Dinner for ~16

I have been to both the Red Fish Grill and Ralph and Kacoo’s and now when I want to eat in the Quarter I pick Red Fish Grill. For starters try the bbq oysters and or the Creamy Cajun Red Bean Dip both great for entrees go with Blackened Redfish & BBQ Oysters and for dessert get the Uncle Eric’s Mississippi Banana Cream Pie. I would call and make a reservation they do get busy

voodoofest ideas

i would recommend Liuzza's by the Track. i ate there last year before i went to voodoo and loved it. we had the BBQ shrimp poboy and the garlic oyster poboy all long with a few apps. the howling wolf is all ways good for music.

it's not to far from the main gate of the fest wich is right behind the New Orleans Museum of Art @ 1 Collins Diboll Circle @ the end of Esplanade ave. it's almost a mile you could park close to Liuzza's and walk to the show. .

Food Recommendations for Jacque-Imo's?

another vote for alligator cheesecake it's the best thing you will ever put in your mouth.. the tuna with the shampagnay and brie sauce is one of my fav's. godzilla meets fried green tomatoes is a good one also but they have only had it once in all of my times eating there. most people on this board dont like it but i love it and would eat there every week if i could. i have never had a bad meal there. when i go i like to sit in the back room its like a patio that they enclosed with stain glass windows.

21st B'day dinner in the Quarter

i would take a cab or the streetcar to Jacques-Imo's Cafe. to me it's a great place for a b day party i would call for reservations and i would go early so you wont have to wait along time to eat. they have a cool little bar in the front order a watermelon mojito. you can also go next door to the Maple Leaf bar and get your drink on while you wait for your table just tell the hostess to come and get you when ready. . if you don't want to leave the quarter then i would go to Red Fish Grill.

good food near city park

Thanks to all that replied to my post. I think I have a game plan. I will eat at Cocuhon on Fri for lunch before the festival and try Coop's for a late dinner. Sat Liuzza's By the Track for lunch and Verdi Mart for dinner. Sun I think we will skip the festival and go to brunch. I was thinking about trying Lil Dizzy's. I read that they have two of them in town one on Esplanade and one on Poydras. Which one is better and do they serve the same menu and are they the same price? After brunch my friend wants to wonder around and do some shopping so I was thinking about taking her to Magazine {because she always hit’s the QTR shops and I want to see and snack at some new places. I don’t mind tagging along if I get to snack and catch a few score’s from the games while she shops. lol} Are most of the shops, pastry and ice cream parlor’s open on Sun? Sorry for the long rant but I’m so pumped about getting to spend 3 day’s eating and hanging out in the city that I call my second home. If you are ever headed to Biloxi and want so info on where to eat or stay let me know.
