Tofu and Broccolini Pad See Ew

Perfect Thai comfort food. Most wide rice noodles you can buy at asian markets will require you to cook them, soaking will be insufficient. There were a lot of noodles, so for the sake of space I fried the egg (and some green onion) in a second wok, and mixed them into the dish after.

I used regular broccoli as I couldn't find broccolini, and it was a suitable substitute. This would be good with shrimp or chicken as well.

Family friendly near Okemo (Ludlow, VT)?

I live 30 minutes south of Ludlow, and I've tried most places. If you're looking for gourmet, try the Downtown Grocery, excellent food and service, but you'll need to make reservations well in advance of your trip. DJs is alright, nothing inventive, it's food. I like Java Baba for breakfast (and coffee), but it can get crazy during ski season.

Another family-friendly idea is the Loft Tavern. While it, like most places, gets super busy during ski season, the food and atmosphere are great. Good choice of Vermont beers, decent menu, and a fun environment.

Cubanesque Sandwich

I added prosciutto to this sandwich and served it on a fresh ciabatta roll. For beverage pairing, I'm not a fan of the Brooklyn Lager, I went with the Sierra Nevada APA instead. I wasn't concerned with its lack of cuban-ness, I know how to make a cuban. For this I was just trying to make lunch.

Mushroom and Wild Rice Chowder

I made this recipe exactly according to the instructions, using bacon from a local smokehouse. The fat from the bacon had a great deal of smoke flavor and really gave the chowder a stand-out kick when it was done. I served this as the main course with a salad and fresh rolls. I highly recommend this recipe.
