Local in Richmond

Almost all restaurants are featuring some local food these days, or at least claiming to. Are there any restaurants in Richmond that really build their menus around locally grown meats and produce? Thanks for your help.

Fresh and Local in Downtown Raleigh

Here's a tall order-- I'm part of a group attending a concert at Lincoln Theater soon and we'd like recs for that neighborhood. Is anybody doing seasonal local cuisine downtown? If not how about tapas or sushi or creative latin. Not looking for white tablecloth "fine dining"-- more into great flavors and fun before the concert. Thanks!

Fresh, Seasonal and Local in DC/Alex

I did an internship in DC in the 90's. When I go back now I find that while my tastes have moved on the restaurants there haven't. Maybe it's just a function of where I go-- anyway I need some help here. Where are the chefs who make exciting plates with fresh local food in season. I don't mean the ones that feature one or two items but the true devotees of non-industruial cuisine. Thanks.

Southern Pines, NC Burger Find

The Bell Tree's not on a corner so I don't think that's it. There was a sports bar between the all-day breakfast place and the laundromat at the corner of SE Broad and Massachusetts. Could that be it? I'll look for the name the next time I'm in town.

Aztec Grill?

I have passed a Mexican place on Chapel Hill St/(Rd. the last few times I was in Durham. I think it was called Aztec Grill. It's in a small building with it's own parking lot across from the Lakewood shopping center at a traffic light. Have any of you intrepid chowhounds tried it? Report!

Kure Beach Chow

I'm returning to Kure Beach after about twenty years. The only seafood restaurant there then was Calabash style. Now don't get me wrong, I love a seafood platter. But has any place opened there with a nice wine list?

Kid-friendly in GSO

My partner and I are coming to Greensboro Saturday to visit the science museum with his sister and her kids. The plan is to meet for lunch first. Is there any alternative to fast food in the area? It will probably have to be on Battleground since we're coming from the east and they from the west. Thanks!

I tended bar in college. (Possibly the reason it took me so long to graduate!) I thought it was cool the way crystal clear Sambuca turned cloudy when poured over ice. Another bartender suggested floating the whitish result on top of prune juice, a concoction he tentatively named "Coming and Going".

Craptails indeed.

Historic Williamsburg

Are the various taverns and eateries in the town any good? Is there anything great? I'd really appreciate any experience anyone wants to share. Thanks.

Lunch in Annapolis

I'lll be arriving in Annapolis for a conference next Thursday and need a place for lunch beforehand. I am not a vegetarian but like to find places that serve lots of veggies when I'm on the road. I love most Asian, especially when it's spicey, but would like to hear of anything between Loews Hotel and the harbor that is especially good.

Saturday Thai Lunch in Raleigh

On Saturday I'm coming to Raleigh to visit CarMax and wanted to get recs for a nearby Thai lunch if possible. When I lived near State it was often difficult to find a place open for lunch on the weekend. Coming from the south so Cary is a possibility. Also like Indian, Korean, Vietnamese. Grateful for any suggestions.
