I'm taking my mother out for her 90th birthday with some friends and I'm looking for a quiet place for dinner on a Tuesday night. She likes most kinds of food -- except for Mexican. It would be great if I could find someplace with a small private room or nook that could accommodate about 7 or 8 people. Berkeley or Oakland. Italian, seafood, American or Asian would all be good. For an example, I love the back space at Zatis on Piedmont but we were there a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for suggestions.
