Alright, so I tried this. And I have to say a great big THANK YOU for the recipe.
I went to Rubio's right before making this and got some salsa to-go, so I could compare. It's almost spot-on. I did adjust a few things:
1. Since this recipe would have been more seed-heavy than what I brought home from Rubio's, I sent about 2/3 of the cooked chili flakes through the coffee grinder before adding them to the tomato sauce.
2. It came out a little salty. Next time I'm going to reduce the salt to 1 teaspoons.
Sorry, but what is a "small" can? 15 ounce (the one about the size of a standard Campbell's soup can, or the 8 ounce can (the short one)?
Edit: Never mind. 15 ounce it is.
