Slow Cooker Pasilla Pulled Chicken

I have made this a couple of times and both times I enjoyed it a lot. I used poblano peppers. Don't afraid of the habanero, I actually added a little extra. This recipe is a keeper.

Fresh Tomato Sauce

This recipe is very good. A nice way to use what is in the garden. Fresh, flavorful, easy big time. I did not use the pasta water. The unrinsed pasta is starchy enough. Make this recipe, you are going to love it.

I too love my immersion blender. It works for everything small to medium. Large batches of salsa for example I just put in my food processor for quick and easy blending. But small
batches like salad dressing are just great.

Cut Back on Salt, Not Flavor

Yes, salt is very tasty and addictive. I always look at the ingredients as a whole to see if I need to add salt to my recipe. If so I will ad lite salt by Morton and use only half of what the recipe calls for. We have destroyed our pallets by eating very large amounts of salt and that is very hard to over come. True home cooking is the only way to overcome this problem.. spice is the flavor of life, not salt.

I would love to have a M&P. Some day soon I'm sure to have one. It will need to be heavy and non porous. I believe that the purpose of the M&P is to pulverize the seed into a fine powdery substance. it is not going to happen in 2 seconds.

Wild Rice and Edamame Salad

Made it as per recipe but left out the cranberries. It was a WOW. I am from Minnesota and grew up on wild rice. It is expensive but well worth it.

Sherry-Tomato Vinaigrette

Used a pint of cherry tomatoes. Reduced the grape seed oil to 1/4 cup added an extra T of sherry vinegar. Spiced it up with Thyme & Italian seasoning. I will make it again. Wish it had less calories.
