Unfortunately Pierre Herme has not got any stores In Germany, Austria or Czech R. You can find him in a future trip to Paris, Lyon, Stransburg, London, Tokyo. he really makes the best macarons I have eaten along with Laduree, You can see my review about macarons here, in one image there is the foie gras macaron with chocolate. http://gastrotrips.blogspot.gr/2012/1...

In hotel Sacher In Vienna I have tried their sachertorte, it was good nothing so special but worh the try as something local and traditional. :)

FOIE GRAS IN BERLIN, VIENNA OR PRAGUE

I think there is foie gras pate and whole cuts of foie gras both from either duck or goose liver. Duck is mostly used and is cheaper, but goose has more refined taste, a bit smoother.

In France I have tasted some excellent macarons from Pierre Herme with foie gras. So when you find them, I suggest you to try them.

KA-DE-WE has a really big gourmet store inside, where you can find pretty everything, plus a cafe to dine inside on the last floor. It is about on the same level as Gallerie Lafayette in Paris. If you mean the Galleries Lafayette in Friendrichstrasse in Berlin though, Ka-de-we is really really bigger with more and bigger selection of everything.

Now after the ban, foie gras is off the menu of the French Laundry?

Good Greek food in Athens ?

I have never seen a family with children not to be welcomed anywhere in Greece.

You can try the GB corner in Syntagma square,(the most central square where the parlianment is)mainly for the food or now that the weather is hot you can to go Plaka or Thisio, mainly for the location. There are many restaurants with their menus posted outside. I have tried the restaurant Kuzina which was good.

Haute cuisine lunch in Paris

Top on my list are
Eric Frechon l epicure at the Bristol 3 courses and cheese at 130 euros for lunch.

Pierre Gagnaire i think has lunch at 105 euros, his style is multiple plates on course and many courses. If I remember correctly his grand dessert is 8 plates.

Yannic alleno has also a lunch menu which you can see online

Jules Verne of Alain Ducasse has lunch at 90(125 with wine) or 210 for the degustarion menu with multiple courses. Food and service is not on the same level as the others i mentioned but it is still good and the view is very good, I went there without reservation althought i do not recommend you do that, as I got the last table.

I have seen the best words for Le cinq. L astrance has a bargain lunch menu but there is a problem with the reservations.

If you feel like spending more money then maybe L' Ambroisie or Alain Ducasse au plaza athenee. I consider them to be the most expensive restaurants in Paris. I have not tried A. Ducasse A. Plaza, but his Louis XV was stunning for food and the overall experience.

Best Sunday lunch in Paris?

One restaurant that comes to my mind that is open on Sundays is L epicure, Eric Frechon at the hotel Bristol. I think most michelin starred restaurants are open only in week days.

Also Le Jules Verne, the restaurant of Alain Ducasse on the Eiffel tower is opened every day for lunch and dinner. You can see my review here http://gastrotrips.blogspot.gr/2012/0... but i dont know if the menu dejeuner is available on weekends for lunch.

3 choices here. Would LOVE feedback.

I would also choose Le cinq, It is now for my next visit the number 2 on my list after Pierre Gagnaire. Then maybe L epicure and Ledoyen.

Returning in mid-April for honeymoon - BOURGOGNE, LYON, LUBERON/PROVENCE

I ll answer about Lyon.

First of all i consider the restaurant Paul Bocuse the best in Lyon. My second choice when i was in Lyon was La Mere Brazier, A 2 michelin star restaurant, which is fairly priced, especially for the quality and the fact that you are in France. The menu for lunch is at 47euros or 50 with dessert and for dinner starting at 67euros. I would recommend in both places to make a reservation. You can see my review here http://gastrotrips.blogspot.gr/2013/0... ...

Bernachon is medium for me. I respect the fact that they make their chocolate from scratch, but the result was not what i expected. They have very good service and you can have a good breakfast there but eclairs, chocolate bars were mediocre. The palets d or and their famous gateau president maurice bernachon were pretty good.

I was astoniched by the chocolatier Bouillet. His saint honore, with tarte base was amazing. Eric Kayser has also nice pastries and his famous baguettes are very good. One thing is for sure, in lyon you can find amazing bread pretty everywhere.

I would suggest that you stay 2 days.

Family Restaurant in Athens for Lunch

I would suggest you to try GB corner. It is in the ground floor of the hotel Grande Bretagne, in Syntagma square. The chef is Sotiris Eyaggelou, the quality is very good, the flavors from traditional greek cuisine to some plates with french influences. You can check the menus and the pricing online on Grande Bretagne site to avoid suprisies. Have a good time in Greece..

One of my favorite meals, 3 michelin stars

I had a great meal at L' auberge du pont des collonges. There is always a debate on the internet about Paul Bocuse, if he deserves his 3 stars or if it is just the name and the fame. To me, the restaurant is easily a 3 star establisment. It is not just the food, it is the whole experience that makes the meal remarkable. A MY2013 ferrari is faster than a jaguar E-type from the sixties, but the jag is kind of more special. You can see my photos at http://gastrotrips.blogspot.gr/2013/0...

Lyon, dining suggestions..

I m planing a trip to Lyon. I would like to see your suggestions about lunch in any michelin starred restaurant. I will surely visit Paul Bocuse, and then something between Mere Brazier or Auberge d l ile as they have good value for money lunch menus. What are your suggestions?

Also i consider Valence as an one day trip from Lyon, to visit Maison Pic for lunch (90euros)..

This is my blog http://gastrotrips.blogspot.gr/ about some reviews in Monaco, Paris and Athens.

Star lunch in Paris

I would also like to know, if anyone knows, if it is ok to have lunch at plaza athenee with only main course and dessert, without any starter. And if you still get all the amuses etc...

Star lunch in Paris

Thank you for your responses. Just saw rostang and he has the menu dejeuner at 78 euros without beverages. Do you think i can manage to find a seat for monday lunch at pierre gagnaire without reservation at all as i dont live in france and i dont have a credit card. Also i know that in case of not showing off you have to pay, as i remember, 150 euro pp for expample in gordon ramsay's flagship.

Star lunch in Paris

As for the food i like classical like ducasse but also passard or gagnaire seem very good. Molecular cuisine doesnt attract me that much. I want something unusual and memorable. What i try to avoid is having a ''1 or 0 star lunch'' in a 3star restaurant, cause obviously lunch menus are very inferior to menu degustation in many of them..from what i have read on the internet i think pierre gagnaire's lunch is the closest to a degustation experience, but maybe i m wrong.

I have read about the long waiting lists for l astrance but i m surprised about jules verne since 120 people can eat there.

Star lunch in Paris

I m thinking of having a lunch in a 2 or 3 michelin star restaurant in paris. From 2 stars I m only considering Jules Verne for the view and the supervision of alain ducasse (lunch at plaza athenee is too expensive at 220pp). From 3 stars I am between Le meurice(90 euros) Pierre Gagnaire(110euros) Eric frechon(85euros). Which one of the four would you consider the best choice in order to taste real starred cooking? For example even thought yannick alleno is very talented his lunch menu is very common. Is it possible to have lunch in any of those with no reservation or with reservation 3 days before? i have seen reviews mentioning half empty restaurant for pierre gagnaire at lunch. And last i would like to know if these prices of the lunch menus are final, or there are any supplements on that, except beverages and water. Thank you in advance
