Waffle, Waffle Cone, or Pizzelle Maker for thin "sandwich" bread?

lol Yeah, I suppose a pizzelle sandwich is odd. I was actually kind of hoping the pretty design would appeal to my 5-year-old, since she's pretty bummed about having to give up some of her favorite foods.

Anyway, I pulled the trigger on a pizzelle maker. I figured I can always use it to make Christmas cookies if nothing else.

Waffle, Waffle Cone, or Pizzelle Maker for thin "sandwich" bread?

Due to family food sensitivities and allergies, I need to make my own baked goods. So I would like to make "bread" for "sandwiches" using either a waffle maker, waffle cone maker, or pizzelle maker. I have a waffle maker (not Belgian) and find that the waffles might be a bit too thick for bread (the calorie count would be too high for just one sandwich).

I don't have a waffle cone or pizzelle maker, but it's my understanding that those items end up crispy after they cool. Is this due to the recipe or the thinness of the end product?

Any thoughts or suggestions on this? I am thinking of buying a pizzelle maker and playing with savory recipes, but I want to be able to make a softer waffle-type "bread," not a cracker.

Thanks so much for any insight you can offer!

Suggestions for (easy) party food shaped like balls?

Great suggestions, thanks!!

I love the idea of peas and pearl onions... and maybe an israeli couscous salad for a side dish.

Suggestions for (easy) party food shaped like balls?

We're having a "ball" themed party for my kid's first birthday. It's an evening party, so the meal needs to be dinner/supper. I am hoping to make as much as possible ahead of time (the day before, preferably). And I'm trying to make everything shaped like balls. lol

Any suggestions?

So far, I am thinking:

APPIES/FINGER FOOD
- Cheeseball
- Caprese skewers

MEAL
- Meatballs (Italian, Cocktail, and Vegetarian, plus hoagie rolls and shredded cheese for those who want to make them a sandwich)
- Cheese poof balls (they're like those cheese curls but round like balls)
- Mixed fruit salad of grapes, blueberries and melon balls (not sure about this, I hate balling melons)

DESSERT
- Cake (with a ball theme)
- Munchkins

DRINKS
- Highballs

I think I need one or two more things to make the meal part more substantial, though.

Your most requested recipe from Thanksgiving/Christmas dinners

Definitely my baked mac & cheese. It is universally loved, and I always get requests for the recipe.
