Hello Chowhound I am writing to ask a question my little brother who is here in NYC from Montana. He is looking for a Japanese place near midtown where he and some business colleagues (from Italy) can have a good dinner, and is quiet and comfortable. They need to be able to talk a little business. Does anyone have a good recommendation? Authentic is good but none of them are super knowledgeable about Japanese cuisine so a little bit Americanized food will not be a deal breaker. Thanks so much |

Friday night birthday dinner in Williamsburg/ Greenpoint Hello Chowhound! Friday is my birthday and I am looking for suggestions for a delicious meal for two in Williamsburg or Greenpoint. Some of my favorite spots (that I can think of quickly) are Five Leaves, Paulie Gees, Fatty Cue, Marlow and Sons, Samurai Mama. I would like to try a new place, but would like suggestions to hopefully avoid a disappointing meal or experience. Any good spots we could try? I am open to any cuisine but would like the quality to be high and atmosphere to comfortable and beautiful. Thanks! |

简简单单的家常菜 还有好吃的便宜小吃 Simple and Delicious Homecooked Food and Inexpensive I love their dumplings! This is a good spot, thanks for the recommendation. I enjoyed fresh pan fried dumplings and a hot soy milk for two dollars this morning! |

Suggestions for seafood/ fish/ vegetarian lunches in Chinatown? I think I will try Amazing 66 tomorrow based on your and ScoopG's suggestions. Cheap is basically $10 and under for lunch. I appreciate the suggestions- I'm from the heartland and while I can catch grow and cook the foods I grew up with, I have little knowledge of ocean fish, or good Chinese food. I guess I'm just learning now. ----- |

Suggestions for seafood/ fish/ vegetarian lunches in Chinatown? I have recently started a job close to Bowery and Delancey, and have enjoyed so many of the Chinatown recommendations from this board on my lunch breaks. I am wondering if anyone can recommend where to go specifically for good, cheap fish and vegetarian lunch dishes? I would love to try some of the fresh seafood in the neighborhood but am unsure where to go and what dishes are good to order. Time constraints have made me hesitate to go to some of the fancier sit down restaurants for my lunch break. Any suggestions for your favorite, quick (hole in the wall) fish and/or vegetarian meals in Chinatown? |
