I am looking for a quiet bar\restaurant\coffee shop in the times square\hells kitchen area to have a quiet drink or coffee around 5pm during the week. I realize Times Square is probably not the most conducive area to find a 'quiet spot', however I am hoping there is one in Hells Kitchen. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

What are some good spots for drinks outside? I know of Rio, Luna, the rooftop at Rare, 230 5th, etc.. All those places are slightly cheesy and are going to be packed with this early spring weather. Any neighborhood is good. Hook me up!

Just tried China Palace last night.. nothing special, wouldn't order again from them. Wild Ginger, Hunan on 5th, pretty good, but again, nothing special. Is there any very good chinese in Murray Hill? Anyone?

I loved Esca.. The raw dishes were phenomenal.. and the best main course to get is the 1lb lobster with spaghetti, chili's and mint.. something like that. The place is really really good.. expensive, but very good.

the best place is Waterfront Ale House (corner of 30th n 2nd)... although it may look like crud from the outside, the food is outstanding and reasonable priced.

I would go with Rare Bar & Grill in the Shelbourne hotel, like 37th-38th and lex, for some of the best burgers in the city, or, to Docks, 40th and 3rd, for some pretty good seafood

Depending on the people, I would say go to Plataforma Churrscaria on 49th between 8th and 9th. Great Brazillian Churrascacia, and the perfect place for a large group of people. If people are vegitarians though, you may run into a problem, although the salad bar is amazing and enormous as well.
