I agree, but never deny thyself is my motto. ahah
The almond croissants are the very best. If you just need a little something to go with your coffee.

I hope everyone is aware of the french pastries, baguettes, croissants and of course the 17 flavors of macarons that can be found at Forbes Ave in Squirrel Hill. The owners are the owner of Paris 66 restaurant and its pastry chef. Enjoy.

Biscoff Spread [moved from Pennsylvania board]

I discovered this yummy delicious spread at Market District Giant Eagle today. It was above the Nutella beside the peanut butter. I thought I could only order this in a Biscoff cookie catalog. My lucky find for the week.

Happy 4th of July everyone.

Pittsburgh, you gotta try The Porch

I love The Porch. I was just there Thursday evening. Walking in I looked up . Do they have roof top dining? Maybe just plants up on roof but looked like seats too.

Pgh Restaurant Closings/Changes

Many months back, I noticed on the Southside along with Cafe Allegro being gone. Le Prommier was boarded up also. I believe the chef past away . He was also part owner. I was disappointed I wanted to enjoy and celebrate a big birthday there.

Porch is Open at Schenley Plaza in Oakland

You walk in are handed a menu by host/ hostess. Told to place your order at the counter. The counter is connected to the bar. There are ample booths and tables to choose. After, you place your order handed a number and directed to have a seat. They will bring you meal out to you. It's got that European flair. I was there for lunch. I enjoyed my meal and staff were very friendly.

Has anyone else eaten there? They are open for dinner to. Porch opened Nov. 14th.

Need PA-centric foods for my new book

As I was growing up, My grandmother always had us over for leftover turkey. It was prepared as the chicken and waffles jiffypop and Lew Bryson describe above. Yum! The waffles were homemade too. No , let go my eggo in this scenerio. Grandma grew up in Pa Dutch/ MD country. Does anyone remember chicken pot pie with rolled out dough squares that would puff up cooked in chicken broth? Its another Pa Dutch recipe.
