Aleppine-style restaurants in NJ/NYC?

I'm interested in learning more about the cuisine of Aleppo, Syria. Do any hounds know of some good restaurants in NJ or New York City that specialize in this kind of cooking? I'm near Trenton in central Jersey.

Thanks!!
Steve

What dishes are improved by truffle oil?

Sacrilege...turkey hot dogs and tater tots!

Which means pretty much anything can be improved with truffle oil...just remember it's fairly subtle, and can be overpowered by many spices and condiments.

Saisons

I'm a huge fan of Southampton's Saison Deluxe. Their brewer literally wrote the book on Saisons and Bier de Garde, called Farmhouse Ales, Culture and Craftmanship in the Belgian Tradition. There's a ton of technical info in there, perfect for serious homebrewers.

As for traditional Belgian saisons, I love Saison d'Erpe-Mere. It's a world class saison.

Whole Foods Gluten Free Beer

Have you ever tried Bard's Tale Dragon's gold? It's pretty decent for gluten free.

You can find a beer finder on their site: http://www.bardsbeer.com/

Beer for braising pork belly

I'm a big fan of Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier; it's a German bock brewed with beechwood smoked malt. On it's own it has a bacony, smoky, malty taste. If you use it in a sauce afterwards it's awesome. They also make a few other varieties, all of which have different levels of smoke and malt intensity.
