Momofuku Ko Tonight -- Wine Pairings

I went recently and got the $85 pairing and wished that I had gotten the $50. The $50 looked more fun and the pours were really small anyway. If you're going to do it, go with the $50.

Landmarc TWC

I couldn't disagree more about this place. My wife and I gave it a few tries because we liked the downtown location but now live on the UWS. It's just plain bad. The service is uncaring and frankly unfriendly, all the while being slow. We sat at the bar this past weekend for brunch and the bartender was rude. The food is fine, but it's not worth the service issues to eat Houston's caliber food.

Great Bar Food on UWS

You're kidding right? The service is terrible, you have to practically flag down a waitress to get a beer, the wings are purple. They are actually purple. The food is decent, the menu is large, there is a good selection of beer, but this place is far from "excellent".

Ko Reservations - Bruni - How??

Frank Bruni always says that he goes to a place at least four times before reviewing, and that it indicated in his review today. My question is, does anyone know how he could have possibly secured four reservations for this place???

L'Impero vs. Scaleni Fedeli?

Scalini is more formal, it's the old Bouley space. I was there recently and while normally i've loved it, it wasn't very good. The pastas were great as always but the entres were salty. Plus, the menu hasn't changed in so long, it's the same thing every time save for a special or two, but nothing that's going to want to make you keep coming back.

crispo vs apizz?

Never been to crispo but apizz has good food but lousy service.

Looking for neat foodie things to do w/ visiting gastronome friend from France

Virgil's is fake bbq. They boil their ribs, it's for the folks who couldn't get into the olive garden or Friday's. For bbq go to daisy may or hill country.

Cuban Food (Counter Style Restaurants)

Sophies is great and they have a few locations around town.

Appiz or the Orchard

The meatballs and lasagna at appiz are great.

Dying for a good egg cream

The Soda Shop on Chambers has a great one.

Daisy May's BBQ satisfies...

The moist brisket at hill country is one of the best dishes in all of new york.

Great burger ... AND great fries? Downtown?

Bobby Van's grille.

Any Sushi buffet or all you can eat in Manhattan?

Kikos on the UWS at 72nd & Broadway is all you can eat. It's being remodled right now but it's pretty good.

Babyback Ribs

Dinosaur makes a great rack of babybacks.

The Little Owl

I recently had a very good meal there as well. Though I was a little dissapointed in their signature dish, the meatball sliders, I found them a bit bland. Other than that everything was great.

Little Owl

Going tonight, any suggestions?

Del Posto Enoteca?

They take them in advance now, I learned that the hard way recently. It's a great deal.

Dim Sum Carts for Dinner?

That's like saying that you can only eat eggs for breakfast. Dim Sum Cafe is packed every night because people like it.

Rotisserie Chicken in NYC

Seconded.

Upper West Side . .Best Delivery

Land has good cheap and fast Thai food.

ISO the newest great burger

I tried the one at Shorty's .32 the other night, it's very good. Has anyone had any of the other newcomers?? Back Forty? Seymour Burton?

Dim Sum Carts for Dinner?

It's just ok, nothing special. It's an UWS location so they tone down the authenticity and flavor.

Dim Sum Carts for Dinner?

Nowhere in Chinatown, but you can to go Shun Lee Cafe on the UWS and get it.

Del Posto Enotecca menu?

It's great. At $45/person it's one of the best deals in the City.

belgian waffle truck!

Don't get too excited, the waffles are pre-made and just heated up.

UWS laid back & yummy for tonight

Celeste is not laid back, it's rushed and crowded. Plus the food is just barely ok, it survives because it's on the UWS. You're better off at Land or Kefi.

Best burger on the UWS?

Don't forget about the fairway cafe, they make a very good burger.

best thai on the UWS?

Land for delivery, it's there before you hang up the phone. . .

Chanterelle?

I agree with tpigeon, I went a few months ago and did not have a good experience.

Anything to eat in the financial district?

I like the grill downstairs at Bobby Van's, it's reasonable and a neat environment, it's an old vault.
