tex mex uptown/greenville area

Honestly, Primo's brunch is pretty good. I haven't eaten lunch or dinner there. Last time we were there our waiter was acting more ridiculous than us, it was a good time.

tacos

Yes, Fuel City is Tacquieria style tacos that do not deliver on quality or taste.

I've been to Mias a few times. Brisket tacos are good there. Mannys is pretty decent as well. The El Salvadorian place down there (can't think of the name, not Glorias, closer to the airport) was pretty good for lunch. El Fenix is a decent cheap lunch spot - food tastes very fake, but service is always exceptional - at every location I've been to honestly. I don't really like Ojeda's on Maple or Herrara's on Maple, food tastes very cheap and overpriced at both.

since I can't seem to find a good tex mex spot that is consistent (glorias has fallen so many rungs down, i refuse to go back), I've become a regular at desperados on greenville. And admittedly it's not that good. Lately it's been blue goose which has delivered a good service with good, consistent food for the last 2 trips, so I may keep going here.

tacos

I have been to a ton of taco joints in Dallas. From trendy tacos to taquierias. My favorite, close, go to tacos are from the chevron @ Greenville and Lovers. It's a pretty sketch neighborhood, so if you're a couple of girls pulling up in your mercedes, you may want to pass. The chicken (and i NEVER get chicken at a tacquieria) is so good. The rest is okay.

Tacos Al Guero over in east of Deep Ellum is also very sketch but very good. The tacos are much smaller than the chevron, but they're good. Their Suadero is excellent, I can eat about 10 of them.

As for trendy, good 2 go is unbeatable. Velvet taco moved into my neighborhood and it's really good, but good 2 go is far better. No others seem to make a mark in my head.

There is this real sketch gas station across from bachman lake that ken rathbun once posted about to go get tacos at, so I did. It's the only place I've been that serves Trompo - spiced pork on a spit. And the trompo delivers. I could drink their orange salsa.

feel free to ask me about tacos anywhere, i'll review if I've had them or I'll go eat them if I haven't - I have a taco problem.

wings in dallas?

So a lot of places have hidden gems on their menu, I'm looking for the place that their hidden gem is wings. I go to plucker's all the time - it gets me by, but it's not extraordinary. I actually like hooter's wings, but their sauce is so weak and it's a chain and gimmicky and blatantly annoying. Wing stop and buffalo wild, c'mon are you kidding me? All the wings I've had at pizza joints so far, fall flat on their face, I actually think most of them buy them from wingstop and resell them - they taste almost identical usually.

I'm going to try angry dog wings this weekend.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Best BBQ in DFW?

i went to back country bbq a few weeks ago, worst place i've ever eaten at, literally.

I haven't been to sammy's yet, but there are really no good bbq places in dallas. Apparently I need to try baby back shack too.

Lockhart is so salty, it's bad - nothing there is good but the cheap lonestars.

i guess i'd say my favorite so far is the original sunny bryan's on inwood/harry hines.

papa's bros bbq is pretty good too.

baker's, spring creek, dickeys, rudys, the sunny bryans that aren't the original, lockhart, and mike andersons are all not very good.

Where can I find good pizza in Dallas?

I made an account specifically to reply to this thread.

I don't understand how Piggie Pie's on lovers/greenville, Extreme Pizza at Preston Center and Serious Pizza in Deep Ellum haven't been talked about.

Since my buddy lives in the village and we hang out over at his place occasionally, Piggie Pie's is a must. Very good go to Pizza. I also work near it so we get it delivered occasionally - I work with a bunch of guys that eat a lot of food and like good food, everyone agrees this is the best go to pizza spot in Dallas. I keep it simple with a Sausage/Pepperoni, they have a small interior restaurant and a good special, 2 slices and a drink for 6 dollars - this should fill you up.

Extreme Pizza has the worst name of all time. Their pizza is REALLY good. They have a thin crust and use obviously quality ingredients. This and Piggie Pies are both really greasy fat boy pizza - no NEO here. Yes it's very greasy, but it's also really good.

I haven't been to serious pizza but apparently it's pretty serious.

Farnatchi is awful - I live next door to it and took my ex there one night, neither of us liked anything about it plus it's in a shopping center - not very romantic - she had the "pizza"

Fireside pies is pretty good, I like their pepperoni.

Urban Crust is okay - if I'm getting pizza in Plano it's Covino's. Covinos is really good, I haven't had it in years though.

Campisis is pretty terrible.

Pizza by marco is also really delicious. Extreme Pizza is the same type of pizza, but far better. (I really hate saying that a place with such a terrible name has such good pizza - trust me).

I grew up on Mama's pizza, their lunch buffet is good, their pizza is above average.

I've never had a deep dish that I liked. Never had a real chicago pizza either - sauce on the top, cheese on the bottom.

If I think of any more pizza spots I'll update. But everyone needs to try Piggie pie's and Extreme Pizza.

Is Five Guys Really the Best Fast-Food Chain?

I don't like smashburger at all, I do like 5 guys. We have this little burger joint in DFW called Burger Street - It's by far the best fast food you can get in the area.

Also, I agree with Garlic guy, Fuddruckers is good, it's not fast food though.
