Hi, I need a great place for a very nice dinner for 4 couples in the South Bay this weekend.

Any suggestions? Can be Mexican, Italian, Sushi, Steakhouse etc. but I do not prefer Thai, Chinese, Indian or Jamaican.

Thanks servorg...I have been using Whole Foods for brown rice sushi for about a year. It is defintely a tasty treat. I was hoping to expand my South Bay options. Thanks for taking the time to reply:)

I live in Torrance and would like a place to enjoy an Anniversary dinner for 4 in the South Bay -- my parents are treating my wife and I.

They do not care for Japanese food. I think I would prefer a steak/chop house or Italian. Any suggestions?

Rooftop looks like just the type of place I am looking for though some of the reviews I read were BRUTAL. Looks like the door staff plays games with people. If we are running late on Friday, the $20 cover starts at 7pm - that would be a tool.

Any other places like Rooftop? Bopping around downtown or being right next to Staples won't be an issue because we will have a driver waiting for us. I had heard about the Beer garden at the New Otani but that closed in September.

I need to find a great place for 8 people to enjoys drinks and appetizers before the Friday night Eagles/Dixie Chicks show at the new Nokia theatre across from Staples Center.

We will be arriving in downtown via limo at about 6:30pm. Showtime is 8:15pm so we will probably have about an hour and a half for drinks and appies.

I'm new to the board so I'm not sure what "HM" stands for. Regarding budget and food preferences:

I love sushi but I think that may get $$ out of control. My guess is that we will have to do appetizers/buffet. I'm not big on Chinese...other than that, I am usually pretty flexible.

A couple thousand dollars on food would be good.

I need a cool, fun place for dinner and drinks with my 40-50 best friends and family next Friday night 09/21/07. We will be cruising in a Limo Bus in/from the South Bay to wherever in the L.A. area and need some ideas where to go.

If this idea doesn't play out, I'm also considering a Limo Bus to Temecula for an entire day of wine tasting. Leaving Sunday am from the South Bay. Any suggestions or tips?
