Good whisky store?

Worth the drive to the Burbs for excellent staff and selection. Many of the top bars use them as their supplier.

Seeking fine-tuning advice for first Portland trip

Lardo East and West seem to be equally delish.
Imperial - I would completely pass after having such random/poor consistency. And never thought the burger was ever stellar.
Gruner - one of my favs
Biwa - used to be tied with Gruner, but then they completely changed and we sent the last two back.
Little B/Pigeon - horrible burgers

http://www.sheridanfruit.com/ has all kinds of critter bits.

Or go big and order from http://www.nickyusa.com/nicky-farms - they have a $100 minimum, but you can just call in your order and pick it up.

http://www.laurelhurstmarket.com/inde... - butcher shop side is open and you can eat in the main restaurant.

And similar deal at http://www.xicopdx.com/menus/ - lunch window, but you can sit and eat in the main resturant after you place your order.

Dinner - Pok-pok - there are so many better options in PDX IMHO. S&S - yum! The long line does go quick and you can always send a runner across the street to get Lauretta Jeans for a slice or two of pie to eat while in line waiting for ice cream. ;-P
Lunch - Lardo, Double Dragon, Grassa, Xico. Laurelhurst Market
Swing by http://www.bowerybagels.com/ to pick up your bagels for the next day.

Sunday:
Evoe - pack a lunch as it is consistently the longest wait for dishes in Portland which always distracts from what are decent selection. Any of the above are more satisfying.
Dessert - Blue star works. And/or go around the corner to Cacao for chocolate bar heaven and buy a few options for a tasting back at the house. Or head to Mississippi and go to http://www.atthemeadow.com/shop/ for incredible salt (100s) , chocolate bars (100), flowers, bitters and wine - lots of options for now and later and gifts. Alt Euro dessert option - head to Cheese Bar and bring back a couple fabulous cheeses.

Portland, round 6: help me wax victorious in the food ring!

UTB - They have surprisingly an incredible 5 course. Interesting combos, generous courses, always a surprise and delight. Highly underrated and I would take any foodie there.

Burger is also quite good and staff is attractive...and smart.

2 days in Portland, what are the must try restaurants?

Ava Gene's is part of the Stumptown empire - which is a fabulous thing for coffee and growers - but this could account for the level of national press as much as the quality of the restaurant in hungry for a story food writers' eyes.

I love the idea of A.G. and have had some fabulous dishes and some complete misses of the same dish on a subsequent visits. Inconsistency at a touch higher prices than similar well executed places has been a major disappointment.

My two cents after four visits.

San Francisco hound seeking feedback and help for PDX itinerary

Friday - fun - depends on what you like - outdoors or shopping

Lunch coffee - consider Stumptown up the street from Pok-pok on 46th - it is the mothership little store where it all began. Great little, tiny, market next door.

Roe - (jealous)

Saturday - you can eat a number of tasty treats at the Farmers Market - Pine State Biscuit has a cart as does Lauretta Jean's - quiches and pies.
If not there, then Lardo in that area.

Le Pigeon - dress code

Have you seen Portlandia? ;-P You can wear anything, anywhere in Portland it seems. Ballgowns can be seen next to Burkinstocks and dreadlocks in all restaurantsl LP included. If anything, Portland is a very dress down town. Pack light.

Anniversary dinner Portland

Roe - there is no better seafood in Portland. We typically fly to SF/NYC for this quality of food and design. Thank god they opened here...with Portland approachable prices.

Beast - always a great experience and meal. I believe you can make the res, see the final menu and change your mind.

SF/Oaklander coming to Portland for 3 days..Kingdom of Roosevelt?

We only went once with another couple and have loved Eric's food in his last place, but we did not like a single dish and found some incredibly odd. We were super disappointed and really cannot imagine them making it with the current menu design as there is nothing that is close to approachable. And we are very adventurous.

Any of your other three would be better options.

If you in the area of Kingdom, then you might consider Roe for a fabulous seafood option. He does serve local harvested items. Division street has a number of great (not local) options as well - Block and Tackle, Xico, Salt & Straw, Lauretta Jeans, Double Dragon, Bar Avignon, Taste Unique...

Any good eating near the airport?

Off of I-205 from the airport take Division St exit and drive from the 80s down to 30st to 12 st. Along the way are:
Woodsman Tavern
Stumptown (original mothership little store)
Xico
Liberty Tavern
Lauretta Jeans
Ava Jeans
Roman Candle
Salt & Straw
Block and Tackle
Roe
Bar Avignon
Double Dragon
are a few on Division to consider. There are other, but I am not a fan.
