PIzza pot pie - what's the verdict?

Hi, I'm coming for a visit this weekend and I heard about this thing called a pizza pot pie. I already am planning to get some deep dish pizzas, but has anyone had the pot pie? Is it any good or is it just a fad? Thanks guys

awesome, thanks a lot guys. I also wanted to ask if there was a decent place to get sushi around the area too. I've heard of friends sushi but nothing else besides that.

Hey everyone, I'm heading to Chicago with my gf and it's her first time visiting. I've been there a few times in grad school but I mostly stuck to the same places. I'll be staying near the James Hotel on Ontario ( I think? ) and was wondering where I should take her to eat. I definitely want to take her to get a deep dish pizza, but are there any other ideas guys? Oh, and maybe a romantic dining spot as well ? Thanks!

The Lucky Ladle

I drove by Magazine Street coming from Wal-Mart and saw the sign for The Lucky Ladle. Has anyone been there yet? I never usually go down that far, so I have no idea how long it's been there. Any reviews/ thoughts on the place?

Art for Art's sake -- are there any food booths?

I'm always working or out of town when this event comes around, but are there food booths or anything like that at Art for Art's sake? And does anyone know where it ends/begins? Thanks, I feel like such a noob, even though I've been here my entire life.

Filipino food..where can i get some in New Orleans?

There is a newly opened Filipino store that opened not far from Hong Kong Market on Berhman Hwy. It's in a newly built little strip mall, with a Subways next to it and a bunch of other small stores. It's on the same side as HK market at well.

well you guys convinced me. I'm going to make a point to stop there when I get a free day or a big break. Is it only open for lunch or do they also open for dinner?

milk bar

Has anyone been to the milk bar? It's on Prytania and I think Delachaise, next to Touro. It looks interesting but I haven't heard much of it.

1 year anniversary dinner

I am trying to find a restaurant to take my gf for our one year anniversary. I was considering Flaming Torch on Octavia, or maybe Coquette on Magazine. Price isn't really an option, so any recs would be appreciated.

New Sandwich Shop Uptown

Awesome. It's good to know there's an alternative place to eat lunch at close to the law school. One can eat soul food for only so long...I'll make sure to tell my friends during our lunch break.

Asian- or Vietnamese-Cajun Crawfish?

Yeah you're right. You'll be hard pressed to find a place like this where you can dine in. I think Michoud Seafood is still up and running but on another street, I think maybe Reed Blvd or Bullard. You can try Cajun Seafood on North Claiborne, down past Bienville.

Favorite Mojito in NOLA?

St joes, especially if you're lucky enough to get their strawberry mojito when they get a crate in every now and then. but they make a mean blueberry mojito.

Baton Rouge - NOLA I-10 Road Food Recommendations

honestly, there isn't much on the drive from BR to Nola worth eating. Like Littleman said, it would be best if you saved your appetite.

Mexican?

There's a new place on S. Carrollton, next to Basil Leaf Cafe, called Panchita's. It's quite good and pretty authentic from what I had. Also it was pretty busy for being a weeknight, so that has to be a good sign.

Good Pizza in New Orleans

That is awesome. I love places like this, no frills just quality food. I hope they're ready for an influx of hungry people because I heard some law school kids talking about this place too.

Blood pudding / Pho Nola

Yeah, everywhere I go, the norm for a bowl of Pho is low 5 for a small and maybe 6.50 for a large.

Best food neighborhood

don't take it the wrong way, alot of my posts go unanswered. As a law student myself, I have become used to Uptown and all their food possibilities but I find myself actually driving to the Westbank or Metairie more often to get food. I think Uptown is the best because of the sheer volume of restaurants in such proximity. Also, the prices and food are really diverse. Sometimes I just feel like eating a dozen wings and then some matt and naddies one day. I like Midcity because they offer I think some better things than Uptown. Their Mexican food is way better and best of all, much less crowded than Uptown would be. Just seems more family oriented in Mid-city.

Blood pudding / Pho Nola

Hey guys, does anyone know a place that serves blood pudding? Has anyone seen it, maybe at Crescent City Pie on Banks street?

Oh, Also, has anyone heard of Pho Nola on Transcontinental? I recently tried Pho Orchid and thought it was pretty good, comparable to Nine Roses.

Pho Orchid

I have noticed a new Vietnamese restaurant in Metairie, Pho Orchid ( behind the starbucks and Izzo's) on Veterans. Has anyone been here yet? I usually drive to the Westbank or to New Orleans East to get some Vietnamese food, and I am not the biggest fan of Jasmine Cafe, even though I live near it.

Phil's Grill.............

Agree with Shanefink, the parking can get really bad when it's busy and I usually park next to the BSI comics across the street. Overall pretty decent burgers, but can take a while to get your food. Service is so so.

Crescent Pie & Sausage

That's a great review and glad I came across it. I recently visited Huevos upon driving past my old high school and I thought it was great on the price and great on taste. I will definitely try Crescent Pie soon!

Mexican/ South American Food

Does anyone know of any good, authentic Mexican or South/ Central American places around midcity/uptown? I'm willing to go out to Metairie too. I used to go to Casa Guerrera, next to Angela Brocato's, but I'm just looking to expand my horizons.
Also, has anyone tried that Central American restaurant in the old Frost Top parking lot off Jefferson Hwy? Its right across from the Picadilly cafeteria.

So if i'm in the area around the Mile, how close or far is wicker park, lincoln park, and all the other neighborhoods that would offer cool surprises? I usually hate tourist hot spots, they have enough of those in New Orleans.
