Misery Loves Company - Winooski/Burlington VT I have to take a moment to strongly recommend this relatively new gem in the Burlington VT area. Misery Loves Company has had a food truck with a religious following for a few years, but now has a brick and mortar location in Winooski. Hard to do a better job than this review in Seven Days (weekly local newspaper): website: For myself, I have been for supper a few times, ashamed to say I have not been for lunch yet. The fried chicken is a must....comes with three sides, easily feeds two people. Best idea is to come with at least 3-4 people to be able to sample a few small plates and one 'meat+3' (did I mention the fried chicken?). Menu changes constantly, extremely creative. The owners and staff are chock full of hard working young people trying to make something wonderful, you just have to love it. |

Other choices...relatively new place (~2yrs old) that has greatly improved with time, The Spot on Shelburne Rd on the way out of town going south on rte7. Also there is Mirabelle's on Main St., which has wonderful pastries but also makes full breakfasts. |

Long weekend in Burlington report I greatly enjoy the Belted Cow in Essex Junction. Tuesdays are BBQ nights, the chef/owner has won national awards in that category. |

Thanks CowGirl and others, I will confirm that here in 2012 Sarape in Enfield CT is still an excellent hole-in-the-wall, family run, quality Mexican eatery. Tacos al carbon were awesome. No one left hungry, I can tell you that. |

Stand Out Vietnamese Place in Montreal? Thanks so much for this recommendation. This was a fantastic, unique experience. The mountains of thai basil, sprouts, cilantro, lettuce, mint, etc. that come with any of these meals lead to a complete feeding frenzy. Any one of these platters pretty much can feed two people, and the flavors and textures are outstanding. ----- |
