great stuff but its just a kabinett (trocken maybe-prob not) I guess 5 years if off dry. Love bottle and souls selection of german wine on UES 81st and Lex or Nancy´s upper west in the 70´s. Would recomend you to try Doennhoff, Kartauserhof, Kuenstler, Dr. Loosen ,Mueller Cartoir, Van Volxem, Basserman Jordan, Emrich Schoenleber god i am getting very thirsty I also like Dr Herman Wiemer, Finger lakes german like and now available in magnum at Eli´s -of course I grabbed a bottle :)
Wow I am a little in shock. I dont care about medals, tanzer, parker.. I am a sommelier and have been started tasting everything in the restaurant where I worked when I became their assistant and later the head sommelier and through trade tastings of course-loads óf them. I would suggest to find out what you like through tastings with local wine shops. very cool would be if you find a sommelier who you become friendly with and taste with her/him and maybe they take u to some big trade tastings.
If you want to pour a drinkable wine I would go with a Vinho Verde (make sure they make u a deal for the case) $5 per bottle (goes with lighter cheeses or Laurant Miguel Viognier for $6 to 7 a btl for nuttier cheeses. Hit me up if you need more help.
Oh God I want to join this Party. How about Jean Milan Blanc de Blanc Brut Champagne-soft brioche flavors and amazing refeshing citrus note $40 Condrieu from the BEST George Vernay -amazing stonefruit and long minerality-bone dry $60 wanna go a little cheaper? Try a combo of white and sparkling Txakoli-its a white wine from Basque region in spain, its floral , crisp, vibrant and has a wonderful green apple flavor and is a little bubbly.CHEERS Txamonin Etxaniz Txakoli de Guetaria 2009 $18
I love Bocqueria there is one is chelsea and one in soho. Both amazing. U can only book a table when you are more then 10 and then you can have their chefs tasting menu for $40 and believe me it was a lot and everything excellent and yes vegetarian options too.
Hi, I really had a great time at Bacco on the upper east side 78th street on second avenue. Its a great price and fresh. If you want something more upscale then ask for the semi private room at Alain Allegretti´s new place La Promenade....Chelsea. Just shoot both an email.

Hi, I got the perfect spot for you! Le rendez Vous wine bar on 80 th between 2 nd and 1 st! They are not to crowded and it's really nice inside long bar and sweet little banquets in the back. You can just choose some bottles, they also have little bites.
