fitandfunction in Los Angeles Area

high end dining in LA?

I'm coming from SF and I'm looking for some places in LA on par with Aqua, Gary Danko, Quince, Boulevard, Dining room at Ritz, Michael Mina, etc.

Any suggestions? I'm open to any type of cuisine, and would prefer a place near downtown.
