thanks rasam...for the benefit of all here is the description from the readers comments -
amritakala is made with coconut cream, milk, sugar, ghee and saffron. i add cardamom too. the key is timing and the heat so it sets properly more than the ingredients which are rather straightforward.
Saffron is the favor most recognizable.

I had dinner the other night at an Indian restaurant in Santa Clara, CA. The meal was the best Southern Indian food I have ever had. The Masala Dosai was delicious. I finish my meal with an incredible desert called Amrutha Kala. Does anyone know the recipe for this?

The best fish market in the south bay is Race Street Foods/Market. They have seasonal fish plus a variety of fresh frozen shellfish. They also deliver to homes know. They also at the same location a kitchen that is very family friendly with outside picnic tables on the warm summer evenings.

Quite honestly I don't know why you would want to make a "favored" stock. Maybe when you make a demi glace or gravy or sauce for dinner.
Gyros - where's the best one?
I've been struggling trying to find the BEST Gyro place in the south bay, peninsula or S.F. Up to this point I have to say Yiassoo is by far the best. They have the most outstanding pita like I have found no where else. The lamb is moist and fresh. The vegetables are colorful and crisp with the utmost freshness. Where's yours?
