Wasabi House- Matawan?

While this one may not be as good as the location in Somerset (never been to East Brunswick location) it is definitely one of the better places to get Sushi for lunch in the area. The lunch specials are some of the best I have seen and the quality is second tier (a good thing). I only had rolls so I can not comment on Nigri and Sashimi but the rolls were exciting and tasty. I will definitely eat there again, but they do have room for improvement. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. If they can get to the same quality as the Somerset location I would put them right up there with Nemo's in Keyport.

Metropolitan Cafe?

Used to be Good now it is Terrible. Read Latest Reviews. Let me start by saying Metro used to one of my and my wife's favorites, but unfortunately no longer. Last week on a Tuesday I decided to pick up takeout to bring home as a surprise. I got one of our favorites the KMK roll. Half the roll had no eel on the inside and there was very little tuna and what there was of it was not top quality. We then decided on Saturday to go to Metro for Dinner as a family hoping that the takeout was just an off night; unfortunately it was not. The KMK roll had the same exact problems and they were the highlight of the meal. The scallop sashimi was not cleaned and bordering on rotten. The soft shell crab in the spider roll was burnt and not edible. The calamari was obviously frozen and cooked in dirty old oil. The chicken fingers were breaded frozen most likely bought at Sam's Club and were inedible as well since they were cooked in the same dirty old oil. We voiced our complaints to the waitress who told the manager and she came back and offered us one dessert for the four of us, we accepted, but did not eat it. The dessert was Bananna's Foster Cream Pie. We each took a bite and left the rest it was a complete mess. Worse of all the manager only took the spider roll off the bill. I approached the manager on the way out and told him of all the problems with the meal and about the take out from only 5 nights before. While he apologized he did not really seem to care. If I was the manager and had a regular customer with such complaints I would have at least offered a gift card for next time, but probably would have comped the whole meal. It doesnt really surprise me that the food has gone so downhill since the manager was a former waiter with no managerial experience. Even the appearance of the place is falling apart. We sat upstairs and the sheetrock on the ceiling is hanging down with mold visible on the rafters. I will never dine at Metro again and I highly recommend others not waste their money there as well. Its a shame that a place that was so good has become so bad.

Wang Sushi Toms River anyone?

I can not believe anyone would rate this place anythng other than one star, 1 star is too much for this place. I got a Tempura Shrimp roll with eel on top. The shrimp were not Tempura but two Gorton's Seafood Breaded and Frozen Fried Shrimp from the grocery store. It was disgusting. The eel was mushy. The other roll was soft shell crab with tuna on top. The soft shell crab was non existence just Tempura Crunch (further proof they use pre breaded frozen shrimp in shrimp Tempura otherwise breading would be same on both) and the Tuna was Frozen White Tuna. I asked the owner if they had Sashimi but he told me no because the fish was not Sashimi Grade. If the fish isn't fresh enough to be Sashimi it shouldnt be served raw in a roll. This place should be shut down for serving the sushi they serve. This was by far the worse Sushi I have ever had in my life. The reviews failed me on this one hopefully my review will prevent others from wasting their money.

Nemo - Keyport Sushi-Pan-Asian Cuisine

Excellent Sushi. Went for Lunch mid week and the Sushi was fresh as can be. Don't be turned off by the appearance from the outside you will miss out on a great dining experience. Chefs made special request for me which they added their own twist and was better than I expected. Their signature rolls were amazing. Serving Sizes were large and price was reasonable. Can't wait to go back. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely Terrible Breakfast Sandwhich

Honestly in the Marlboro/Manalapan/Englishtown area I have not found much Hunan Gourmet and Naka Sushi are good but other than that only Spargos in those areas in Freehold there are plenty. If you know of any I am open to suggestions

Absolutely Terrible Breakfast Sandwhich

Got pork roll and egg sandwiches for $5 each said there was extra pork roll if you didnt get cheese on sandwich I would hate to see what not extra pork roll looks like. There were 3 measly thin slices of pork roll. Eggs were burnt, pork roll dried out, roll soggy. One of the worse sandwiches I ever had bought three of them two got thrown out the three of us battled to eat one only because we were hungry. Dont waste your time with this place. FYI look at dates of reviews on other sites obviously done by the owner and their friends. This place is a terrible mess.

Help Looking for Good Food in Manalapan / Marlboro Area

So tired of Italian, Chinese, or Fast Food looking for an alternative in Manalapan / Marlboro Area. Can anyone please recommend a restraunt doesnt matter if its take out or fine dining that serves good quality food that is not Italian or Chinese. Would love to hear about a good Seafood, Cajun, French, or Tapas Restraunt in the area or within a reasonable distance to grab a bite to eat on the way home or to be able to run out to when we dont feel like cooking. Hopefully there are some out there I havent been able to find any yet.

Mo' Greens Roast House BBQ in Manalapan

Had the pulled pork sandwhich and shrimp Po Boy. Pulled Pork was tough and dried out and not edible like eating leather. Shrimp Po Boy was frozen shrimp on stale bread. Sent food back owner insisted everyone loves his "pulled pork" asked him to try it and he wouldnt'. Asked him to try some "fresh" from back and still wouldnt. Doesn't say much when owner gets complaint but refuses to try food for himself. Pulled pork was replaced with ribs. Ribs were cold and also tough. It is quite obvious that they precook food here and reheat as needed even if it has been sitting around for days. Would not recommend anyone wasting their money here. Pom Pom BBQ on Rt 33 is a much better choice on most days. Food is fresh however some days it is so salty it is not edible either (can't quite figure out why). Hopefully one day we will have a good BBQ joint in area or at least an alternative to Italian, Chinese or Fast Food.

NEW Mexican restaurant coming to Englishtown

Food was terrible. This is yet another business that will fail at this location. Meat was cold and tough. Tortilla was mushy. Have had better food at Taco Bell
