Lemeac vs Taverne Sur Le Square? very good to know - i think i may have been swayed by very high marks on urbanspoon and/or tripadvisor seems that there's nothing special about taverne at all - judging from the responses above does the same opinion hold for lemeac? if it's also "boring" or un-memorable - should we do La Coupole instead (i have that option as well) thanks - you guys have been very helpful! ----- |

Lemeac vs Taverne Sur Le Square? turns out the largest party they can accomodate is 6ppl - sounds a bit odd but I'm told it's a small place (looks like the concierge at our hotel had more luck than I did)... I also have Cinquieme Peche reservation... but fwiw, i do see Taverne consistently rated higher and with better reviews - what are your thoughts between the two? |

Lemeac vs Taverne Sur Le Square? oh dear - not sure how i missed this but thanks for the response first of all... looks like i picked two quiet places. Now Joe Beef happens to be one of the two top recommended places (Que de Cheval was the other but I have no interest for paying more than NYC prices for what I gather to be sub-NYC quality steaks)... But I've tried calling their number for weeks to get a reservation and no one ever answers. No matter what time of day. It doesn't even have a voicemail. So unless it closed down or something, I honestly have no patience or need to experience a restaurant that can't get their sh-t together. Phone/website/e-mail is kinda restaurant 102 i think (after location-chef-menu being 101). If you have a number other than (514) 935-6504 - I'm happy to try it, thanks again! p.s. so am i to understand that both restaurants are too quiet for a group of 7-8 guys on a bachelor party? (even if most are in their late 30s?) ----- |

Lemeac vs Taverne Sur Le Square? thank you both. We are all older and this isn't exactly the wild bachelor party. Quite a handful of foodies in the group I think. We will do the wild stuff *after* the restaurant - we don't need to get wild in there - haha So I have Lemeac for late Friday night - their late night menu seems like a steal and I have Taverne for Saturday night - sicne it's busier and louder atmosphere that should work well (as it will surely be the roudier of the two nights) win-win for me I think thanks! I think I was trying to see if I should switch Lemeac to Saturday night and possibly |
