Day-After Wedding Brunch

Hi there Chowhounds! I am a very stressed bride-to-be, and need a bit of help. My mom is hosting a day-after brunch (the wedding is a saturday night in may, so this would be the sunday after), but we don't know where to have it. This would be for a large group (maybe up to 70 people), we would like to keep this to $50/per person after tax, tip, and including drinks. Most people are staying in midtown east, so easily accessible from there would be preferable. No specific cuisine, just a nice place that can accommodate this large group, won't break the bank, and would be delicious. Something fun or unique would be the cherry on top. My mom noted that since the wedding is black tie and the food will be very elegant, maybe something more homey would be a nice idea for the brunch. Thanks!

The best mole in Manhattan?

I have to disagree. I am a mole freak (I've tried it everywhere in search of the best) and I freaking DIE over the mole at taqueria y fonda. It is rich and delicious. I had it last night for dinner!

I live on the UWS but will take her anywhere in Manhattan... I'd like to go somewhere cute, unpretentious, with good food. Recs?

Where should I have a great group dinner/party?

I'm looking into the NoMad, but it seems a bit expensive... I don't really want to spend more than about $70 pp if I can avoid it (including drinks), though, I'd go a little higher... basically, somewhere with $20-35 entrees would be ideal

Where should I have a great group dinner/party?

I am graduating this June and will need to host about 15-20 of my very foodie relatives. I want to go somewhere fun and also delicious... some ideas I had were renting out a japanese karaoke place (but with delicious food? great food is a requirement and might be a bit hard here) or a russian restaurant. I love ethnic food, but don't require it, and I want an atmosphere conducive to talking and having fun... Any ideas? New and cool places are also always great. Thanks!

Foodie Needs a FUN spot for a Graduation Dinner- must also be DELISH and Interesting!

I am graduating from law school this June (woo hoo!), and will need to host about 15-20 of my very foodie relatives. Help! Last minute Saturday night for visiting guests! Downtown (EV?) please!

Hi- a party of 5 will be in town on saturday night. I was thinking East Village Korzo Haus, but they only have seats at the bar (which I don't want, because I want to be able to talk and look at everyone), and I don't want to do an hour wait, so I'd like a place that I can get a reservation. We love GOOD food, and I want my guests to see cool NY places that they can't see in Chicago (where they are coming from). Also, I need somewhere we can get in. I like the idea of a low-key place where we can drink and catch up. Nothing too expensive (nothing over 40 per/person including drinks).

HELP in advance!

Best Empanada I've ever had- please help me find this Empanada lady!

Earlier this summer, I bought empanadas from a woman at a street fair on 107th and Manhattan Avenue. These empanadas were like nothing I'd ever tasted, the dough was white and crispy, not at all greasy. The empanadas were thinner than most empanadas and not soggy or doughy at all. They were filled with meat and veggies. Anyway, it was the most delicious and unique empanada I've ever had. I'm dying for another one, but, it having been a street fair, I have no idea where this lady is! If you know this woman or anything similar, please respond to this post! Thank you!
