Are there restaurants that indicate Weight Watchers points on their menu Thanks, Chic. I see you used the word "did". Have you given up on it? She may have to back off a little on her points obsession., She may also have to forget about eating those entres that are more complex with sauces she can't guesstimate. |

Are there restaurants that indicate Weight Watchers points on their menu Thanks Ellenost. And thanks Applebee's. We don't go to fast food places and generally avoid chain restraurants. Weight Watchers is more than calorie counting. My wife and I have been cooking at home with Weight Watchers recipes and we find most of them quite delicious. But sometimes, you just want to go to a nice restaurant for dinner. What trouble would it be for a high end restaurant to hire a nutritionist to evaluate at least some of their menu items. I'm disappointed that you feel that you may be BANNED from the CH boards for mentioning Applebee's. If I go to Applebee's am I officially part of the great unwashed as far as CH is concerned? |

Are there restaurants that indicate Weight Watchers points on their menu My wife has been watching the Weight Watchers diet for several weeks, It's been working well for her but it has put a stop to dining out (or at least dining out without the use of differential equations). Are there any restaurants in Chicago that indicate Weight Watcher points on their menu selections? If not, any restaurants that give nutricional breakdown on the menus? |

There used to be a sandwich shop by this name at the southern end of Lincoln Avenue in the 70's. They had dozens of sandwiches on their menu, all with outrageous names. And if you didn't find what you wanted on the menu, they would make it to order for you. One of my favorites: Biercaise cheese, sardine and onion with chopped chicken liver on Italian bread. (I had no significant other at the time). Is there a sandwich shop in Chicago (or elsewhere) like this now? |

Great Pizza Recommendation Needed -- Near Deerfield/Lakeview-- Do they Deliver to Hotels? Although the Hyatt has a lot of ammenities, in-room ovens are not among them. Frozen pizza would do Jodie no good. Cornbread is made from corn meal. Check with Gino's restaurant re ingredients. |

Great Pizza Recommendation Needed -- Near Deerfield/Lakeview-- Do they Deliver to Hotels? The Deerfield Hyatt has a Gino's East in it. Gino's has a cornbread crust that's yummy. Order by saying thick crust or Chicago style. ----- |

Great Pizza Recommendation Needed -- Near Deerfield/Lakeview-- Do they Deliver to Hotels? Although Lou's is my favorite, other excellent deep dish pizza places that deliver to Deerfield are Piero's and Moccio's, both in Highland Park. |

>>We would like a casual, fun place with good food in a "bar-ish" atmosphere. We will be drinking mass amounts of alcohol, so good beer/cocktail menu is preferred.<< If you will be drinking massive amounts of alcohol, I don't think any restaurant charging more than $20 pph for food will fit your (or fellow diner's) needs. More importantly, hopefully you will have accomodations in the City and take a cab to and from the bar/theater. |

Looking for Restaurant with Amazing COCKTAILS! I'm not familiar with Longman and Eagle so I can't offer judgement but I'm curious. If a restaurant doesn't take reservations and waits are 90 to 120 minutes, what was it about their food/dervice that you found so lacking that so many other people appreciate. If your experience was a fluke, maybe you should voice that caviat as you seem to carry a lot of weight on this board. If your experience was not a fluke, there are a lot of foolish people spending a lot of money on bad food at this place. |

Recs for breakfasts/cheap lunch/dinner needed Nsxtasy, thank you so much for your recommendation of Allspice. I found it to be quite an insightful suggestion as the quality of the items offered was as good or much better that many of the other area establishments that charge what a normal person brings home with their weekly paycheck. |

We were in NOLA in April and had dinner at a place called Dante's Kitchen near where St. Charles Avenue tees into the river. The dinner was wonderful but what made it the highlight of our vacation was the spoonbread that is served before any entre. When we got back to Chicago, the first thing we did was Google "New Orleans spoonbread recipe" and what did we find but a recently filmed video of Dante's chef making the spoonbread! ----- |

Anniversary trip to Chicago; Would love a nice dining experience $200 or less for two >instead of a cheap ethnic place in an outlying, inconvenient neighborhood< *SIGH* |

Anniversary trip to Chicago; Would love a nice dining experience $200 or less for two Just because you are happy to pay "less than $200 for a nice dining experience for two" doesn't mean you have to spend anywhere NEAR that in Chicago for fine dining. Food snobs on this board seem to think anything less than Aliena, Charlie Trotters, Everest, or North Pond are not worthy of consideration. If you want to spend hundreds to eat and it's important for you to say you've *eaten there* I guess those places are the standard go to places. Take some time to dig through Chowhound Chicago earlier posts. Look at what some what Chicago residents say about little known wonderful places to dine where you aren't necessarily part of THE SCENE. It's CHICAGO for Pete's sake. Think ETHNIC. Here's a starter: Isla Filipino on Lawrence Avenue. A great Filipino restaurant situated in a strip mall next to a porno shop. I'm sure few people in St. Louis will have heard of places like this, but they will certainly be memorable.. ----- North Pond |

DeLuxe fish sandwich, Champaign The last time I had a DeLuxe fish sandwich was 35 years ago and I still haven't found one as good. As a matter of fact I posted a query on the Chicago Chowhounds trying to find a sandwich as good as theirs in the Chicago area. I go back to CU occasionly and will have to try Legends and Derald's. A fish sandwich, a Stroh's and a bowl of chili at the DeLuxe...and another beer....and a game of pool...and another beer....may as well pack in the rest of the afternoon. Some of my best memories were with my co-workers from the architectural firm I worked with on Friday afternoons at the DeLuxe. Roland, Tim, Tim, Bill, Jim, Don where are you now? |

So Your Friends Want to Go to A Chain Restaurant.... so What? :} [moved from Not About Food] If it's been between 7 and 20 years since you dained to eat at one of these lowly dining for the unwashed masses establishments, how can you say ANYTHING about them? |

Restaurants in and around Deerfield Il. Well, since you know it's called Kevin's Place I guess you know of its existance. I am convinced that you haven't eaten there lately. Kevin's is an institution for a reason. KEVIN! He provides, especially, a warm, friendly, good place for a family to have a great weekend breakfast. And no other person is more dedicated to the community than Kevin. He's a treasure. ----- |

Where can I find a great fish sandwich? I haven't been to Berghoff's since the change over. Thanks for the tip. By the way, I am by no means a dining snob and frequent Culvers on a regular bases and enjoy their pork tenderloin. Will hhave to give their fish a try. |

Where can I find a great fish sandwich? Actually I've tried Snappy's based on a review on Chicago Gluttons. Must have been an off day :-/ |

NYer on first trip to Chicago on a budget NSX, I'm sorry you dain to wste your time eating at places where they serve the lowly fried chicken, but those of us on a dining budget of less than $500/day find it necessary to make due at lesser restaurants. Harold's (OMG! It's south of Madison Street!) has great fried chicken. ----- |

Restaurants in and around Deerfield Il. gregger77 is all wet when it comes to The Cherry Pit because The Cherry Pit hasn't even been in business for nearly 5 years. |

Where can I find a great fish sandwich? Years ago, when I was a student at the University of Illinois in Champaign Urbana, we used to get THE BEST fish sandwiches at The DeLuxe Diner on Green Street. The DeLuxe is no longer there and I have been trying to find a dimilar sandwich on the north side of Chicago or the north suburbs ever since. Deep fried cod (I believe) on a warm bud with pickles and a little catsup. MMmmmmm. ----- |
