Seriously, Mary Beth made me want to scream. She couldn't cook half the time, she wasn't in the least bit interesting or engaging, and frankly the "Sunday Supper" thing was such a tired and uninspired idea. I like Jeff - he's goofy but his food looks and sounds really yummy and he's enjoyable to watch. |

does anyone still buy instant coffee?? canned vegetables?? condensed soup?? Aaaah I see. Tuna noodles is an "I don't feel like cooking tonight" food for me, so I couldn't be bothered to make my own lol. |

does anyone still buy instant coffee?? canned vegetables?? condensed soup?? Ah it's just comfort food - egg noodles, tuna, cream of mushroom soup with a little milk, season to taste and bit of parmesan cheese mmmm... I like to put some bread crumbs in mine too. Then I eat a bite of the noodles dragged through the pea puree and it's quite delicious. |

does anyone still buy instant coffee?? canned vegetables?? condensed soup?? I still buy cream of mushroom soup to make quick tuna noodle casserole now and then... but I've taken to making a buttery sweet pea puree to go with it lol. |

What do I do with a pound of dates? I saw something on a food show awhile back - dates stuffed with Manchego and wrapped in bacon with some sort of mapley drizzle... it looked amazing. I would do that. And probably make some sort of bread. |

What are you baking these days? August 2011, part 1 [old] Thanks :) Now I want to bake lol. Alas, I am stuck at work on this, the dawn of my thirtieth year :) |

What are you baking these days? August 2011, part 1 [old] My SO couldn't understand why I would want to make my own birthday cake so unfortunately tonight I will be getting a store-bought cake lol... but I am still going to make Ina Garten's peach cake this week :) I've been wanting to make it for ages and never got around to it. A couple of weeks ago I made Tish Boyle's Chocolate Valentine Cake for my SO's birthday. It was divine. Lovely flourless chocolate cake - instead of the raspberry layer and chocolate glaze, I made a homemade whipped cream and topped the cake with that and shavings of bittersweet chocolate. |

Flourless Chocolate Cake -- with complications I wonder if you could replace the whipped cream in the Chocolate Valentine Cake from The Cake Book by Tish Boyle with a non-dairy whipped topping... That's the only ingredient in it that doesn't meet your qualifications :) And it is delicious and kept very well in the fridge overnight and then in the freezer for a few days as well. |
