Irony....sorry. I am sure that you are trying to make a point. Please explain your point and in tactfully doing so remember that everyone has a right to their opinion. Your point please????? |

I will definitely take a look at the Casa Mono menu. However, isn't this the same restaurant that established a "time" limit on their patrons? (I believe someone posted a comment regarding this restaurant a few weeks ago). ----- |

Restaurants everyone loves--except you Wow! You wasted a lot of money on Hoop La! |
Restaurants everyone loves--except you agreed....2nd hated restaurant - The Blue Water Grill....the first being Joya Thai on Court street in Brooklyn. UGH! |

Restaurants everyone loves--except you Joya Thai restaurant in Brooklyn. First time I went I was so not impressed the food was awful. But I always believe in giving everyone a second chance. (Thinking maybe I caught them on a bad night). So a year later some good friends invited me to go to Joya .I hated the restaurant even more.(and that is putting it mildly). The food was awful and the service was rudest service I ever experienced (and I am a native New Yorker) People swear by Joya as being one of the best Thai restaurants.....but I swear not to go back. For better food and service just go to the Lemongrass down the block. Better food....and no rudeness. |

Agreed.....Chef Carmen is doing a stellar job with the cuisine at UNC.....I just wish that more recognition was given....it is one of the most popular restaurants for a good reason. |

Interesting....I thought also that Zagat (or the powers that be) had raters that would visit the restaurants themselves and grade them? Ten years ago, they were the gem of Zagat...now....they are not even mentioned. What needs to be done to put Union Square back on the radar. Many patrons visit Union Square Cafe, and are amazed by their culinary excellence night after night.....so I have come to believe that it is more than a simple compile of diners submissions. Everyone is always satisfied with the food and service....and mentions it at every turn....so what gives??? |
Can not go wrong with any pizza place located in Bayridge Brooklyn. Forgettaboutit! |
Just came back from eating at the Union Square Cafe....the food was simply AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The dessert.....OMG!!!! I was with a friend and I could not say a word during the entire desert portion of the meal. I was speechless! Word to ZAGAT - WAKE UP!!!!!! You need to put them back on the list as the best restaurant. What is your criteria?????? Chef Carmen is really cooking up some really nice dishes. You need to go back and put them back on the list as one of the top 10 restaurants for 2012. |

What about Geshia??? |

Oh really. Wow need to try Casa Mono to see for myself what the "talk" is all about. I finally found a wonderful Tapas restaurant not in Manhattan, but in the outer boroughs called Fino Wine and Tapas on Bell Blvd. in Bayside Queens. Not a lot of tapa choices on their menu....but each selection is simply wonderful. And their Sangria...simply to die for. ----- |

It is my favorite restaurant also. They use to be the gem of Zagat a few years back. I dont know what happened. But still my overall favorite place to go with close friends....even when I want to dine alone. |

Yes your right. Degustation is not a tapas restaurant. But OMG.....it is such an awesome restaurant! A true Foodie experience. |
Even though Degustation is not considered a Tapas restaurant....I agree with you. I was wowed by the different dishes that were prepared. All true "foodies" need to go there. A wonderful experience. |
Nah....I made the mistake and went to Tasca. Good but somewhat disappointing. Will try Toro next time. |

Casa Mono - time restraints on dinner There should only be time restraints for tables of 4 and under. (And with that it should be explained prior to seating) If there are more than 4 at a table then IF necessary there should be time constraints (5 people 2.5, 6 people 3 hours, etc.) and so as to take the "sting" out of the experience, free desserts or drinks should be offered. ----- |

I am looking for a restaurant that serves good tasting Tapas at every turn. A menu with a lot of variety. Being a true Foodie my frame of reference is the "food" experience. The spices, the texture, the colors, right down to the garnish. The service is important to. But the "Spaniard" atmosphere....not so much. Believe it or not....the first and best Tapas restaurant that I have every been to was in Utah .... Yes, UTAH!!!! Wasn't to impress by the Tapas in Boston....sorry. And yet I divert....in short whether its wow or oh my, or OMG!,,,,the bottom line is that I am looking for an unforgettable Tapas restaurant. |

homemade chilled red beet borscht Brighton Beach Brooklyn serves the Best Borscht.....DA!!!! |

Did you try Murry's near West 4th? |

If you want to "buy" Lobster and cook it yourself the best place is in Freeport Long Island a place called Two Cousins. They sell the freshest fish (shell fish) around. If you are talking about a nice restaurant, check out City Island. There are several restaurants that serve good lobster. |

Believe it or not....the best place to find Bubble tea are the "mom and pop" Chinese bakeries up and down Main Street. I am a Quickly fan too.....but the Chinese bakeries are better. (there are several of them...) where you can find the traditional pork buns...you can never go wrong. |

No waiting for a table is not an issue for me. I can go for traditional as well as non-traditional tapas...and when it comes to good food and quality service, price is not an issue. (I can see myself paying for tapas that cost $15 a plate). What I am mainly looking for is variety. (a selection of Tapas) I went to Flor de Sol one time...and it was good. But I am looking for a superb experience....something where I can say WOW! Something that can impress a foodie!!!! - Thanks for being the first one to reply....I was beginning to worry...whew! ----- |

Can anyone suggest a good Tapas Restaurant? (Other than Flor De Sol in Tribeca) |
