She and I are both pretty adventurous eaters. My experience so far has been that other than Japanese and Mexican San Diego doesn't really excel at ethnic food. OK, I have a soft spot for Asmara too but it doesn't really scream special occasion.
I have a friend in town who is an erstwhile foodie and pastry chef but who never goes out anymore since she became a mother. She will be in town AND flying solo Friday night and I want to take her out for a really wonderful meal. Money is not a factor other than I want to splurge on her
Unfortunately, I'm reasonably new in town and don't know my way around San Diego restaurants as well as I would like. Any suggestions? I'm afraid that Restaurant Week may make this more of a challenge.
