Best meal I ever ate:

Sigara borek and grilled fish at a waterside restaurant in Istanbul. (I can't remember the name of the place - I think I had too much raki.)

My current drink of choice:

Sparkly Gin-soaked Epiphany: Spanish Cava, St. Germaine liqueur, & a large splash of Bombay Sapphire gin

I really wish I could:

Travel more to great foodie destinations. For example, I've never been to Italy. Or Thailand. Or Kansas City!

My "Go-to" dinner party dish:

Take-out food. (I don't cook, I heat.) My favorite party meal: tabouli salad from Emily's, chicken from <strike>Rotisseria</strike> Holy Land, and key lime pie from Birchwood.

My favorite comfort food:

Cinnamon toast.

My top 5 favorite restaurants:

In alphabetical order: Al's Breakfast, Bangkok Thai, Birchwood Cafe, Brasa, Gandhi Mahal, Holy Land, Keefer Court, Khyber Pass, Midori's Floating World, Midtown Global Market (especially Sonora Grill, Los Ocampo, Salty Tart, Holy Land, and Safari Express), Punch, Restaurant Alma, Russian Tea House, Saigon, Tanpopo, U Garden, Vincent and IZZY'S ICE CREAM!

My most tattered cookbooks:

Joy of Cooking (1964 edition). I bought it used, and it's stamped "American Library, Teheran, 1973". That cookbook has had an interesting life.
