I'm planning a wedding at Basilica on the Hudson and am thinking about using the following caterers: Fresh Company; The Artists Palate; Swoon Kitchen; and Terrapin Catering. I'm looking for feedback or reviews with regard to food and service. Thanks. |

Buying lamb products near Trumbull, CT I hear you. Even though it is annoying to be at the store several times per week, I do it because I think fresh is better than frozen. My sister in law lives in middle new york state and swears by freezing, but I am resistant. I have no tips for freezing or thawing. Whenever I freeze food, because I don't do it often, I tend to forget or lose it in the mix of my freezer and then I get uncomfortable that it has been in there too long. I don't want to make my guests ill! |

Buying lamb products near Trumbull, CT Wow. Thanks for the professional endorsement and the explanation about how they store and butcher the meat. I've never really understood the freezing process--actually I've always hated using frozen products because I felt that something was lost in the process, but this explains a lot about the proper way to age and freeze fresh game. I appreciate being educated chefstu. |

Buying lamb products near Trumbull, CT I think there is a demand, but no outlet to express it. $17.99 a pound! That is obscene. I've gone to Food Bizarre in Bpt. and even they don't have much lamb. They do have goat and oxtails. |

That sounds fabulous. I will definitely try the Lobster Shack. I am a huge fan of Lenny's in Branford too. I have had their lobster salad which was very good and am happy to hear that they are now offering the hot buttered variety, although I never get lobster at Lenny's because their prices are ridiculously high, even when lobsters are being sold at lower prices all around the area and even when so many people go there for the lobster. I never could understand their high lobster prices, even though I am willing to pay their prices because their other seafood is so fresh (scallops!) and I am addicted to their onion rings and coleslaw. ----- |

Buying lamb products near Trumbull, CT I really don't understand why there is such a limited amount of lamb sold in most grocery stores in this area and why it is so expensive and why, what they do have, seldom goes on sale -- think spring lamb -- you would have thought there would be have been some sales. In Stop and Shop, most of their lamb is from Australia. |

Buying lamb products near Trumbull, CT Thanks bagelman. I went to Ferraro's years ago and completely forgot about it as it is never or seldom advertized in the Trumbull area. You're right. It is worth the 25 minute drive. |

Either mayo or butter. I don't mind paying $18 for a lobster roll because I realize that lobster is expensive and that it is time consuming to get the meat, but I don't want to pay that price for a skimpy lobster roll with claw meat on a wonder bread hotdog bun! |

Roseland Apizza: ambiance doesn't affect price. Warning: pizzas can cost $85! Roseland can be really expensive, but when I go there with my husband we get the arugula salad with mushrooms and roasted peppers which comes with bread and then we order their fresh garlic pizza with cheese. It is so outstanding that you don't need any extra toppings. Just savor the garlicky flavor and the great sauce. It is plenty filling and you don't have to refinance your house. |

great fried clams w/ bellies and onion rings in ct I think the best fried clams or fried food in general (especially the onion rings!) in CT can be had at Lenny's in Indian Neck Branford CT, not to be confused with Lenny and Joe's Fishtales. |
