Purple Pig

We are from downtown Boston so we are used to tight spaces... we wont bring the stroller inside for sure, we have a lock for it to leave it outside... We also have a high chair that clips to the table so as to not take floor space. As long as it is not 100% full this usuallly works out ok. Does that seem reasonable?

Purple Pig

Thanks nsxtasy! This was really helpful both on how crowded and lay out. We are city dwellers so we are very used to small restaurants. We try to be very careful about disrupting other diners, so we'll definitely make an exit if he is disruptive, but he's usually no problem. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be totally out of line (I know there are some places around home we just wouldn't take him) and wanted to confirm that during that time we would likely encounter less/no waiting and less crowding. We have a stroller lock to leave it outside and a small clip on high chair if need be... so it seems like this should work. Much appreciated.

Purple Pig

We are going to be visiting Chicago in April with our 7 month old son. We were thinking of bringing the baby to the purple pig with us, but going at like 2:30 or 3 in the afternoon. He is used to being in restaurants and will sit in his stroller or our take along highchair or laps very well (and if not, of course we can always take him out). We will make sure to feed him before we go so there isn't a mess of baby food or anything.

Do you think this would be ok at that time of day during the week?

Florence- Open on Sunday?

Does anyone know if Trattoria Due G and/or Olio e Convivium are open Sundays for dinner? If not, any suggestions for somewhere that is?

Thanks!

Lunch near Accademia in Venice?

hi there,

I have been reading hundreds of posts on this board as I try to plan a two week trip to Rome, Florence and Venice. There is so much info and everyone is so helpful... so first off.. thank you!

We will be in Venice for 3 days.. and on Sunday we plan to start near Santa Maria della Salute and wander our way up that bank of the canal to Accademia and then furhter. I suspect we will be near the Accademia at lunch time. Any suggestions for a not too heavy and relatively quick (less than 1.5 hrs maybe?) lunch in that area? We do have a non-seafood eater in the group, aren't worried about price... just want decent food. Could be pizza, sit down, whatever.

Thanks!

Cancale and Mont St Michel

This crepe place sounds exactly what I was looking for... something inexpensive and relatively quick... but still not a "picnic" or grab and go. Perfect! thank you.

Cancale and Mont St Michel

Hi everyone,

I have been following this board for several months and devouring as much information as I can find on it. My husband and I are coming to France for two weeks this fall and will be spending 2 nights in Cancale (Chateau Richeux). We will arrive in Rennes in the early afternoon... pick up a rental car and drive up to Cancale to check in. Any suggestions for dinner that evening? I have read the historical posts but those seem mostly centered around the old Roellinger restaurant and oysters from the beach. We are looking for just a casual but tasty everyday dinner this night... any thoughts?

The following day we are planning to visit Mont st. Michel. Everyone says that the food there is terrible... but if we must eat somewhere... any suggestions? We will return to the hotel and its restaurant for dinner this evening, so we will only need lunch.

Thanks in advance for your help. I have gotten so much help in making our plans for Paris from this forum and it is greatly appreciated!
