Hopcat is great, it is a bar/restaurant but during the day you should have no problems.

Russel Street Deli in Detroit by Eastern Market. They have Manhattan style Clam Chowder and it is extremly popular. I have only tried it once but I have been aching to get another bowl. If you go to Eastern Market on Saturdays they set up a soup stand and always have the chowder to serve.

Hello all, new to the boards here but a long time follower of all posts relating to the Detroit area. Going to be staying for a week in Interlochen, Michigan and need to know the where to eat. We will be travers(ing) the greater area and would love any and all suggestions on where to catch an affordable yet locally procured restaurant for any meal of the day. Once back I will be sure to post my thoughts on where I dined. The more suggestions the better, just to let you know I have normally stayed in the Beulah area(go cherry hut) so distant is not a problem especially if it's a must eat.
