Orlando - any good BBQ joints?
Depends a great deal on whether you mean spare ribs or baby backs. Bubbalous' aren't bad. Blackwater's are good. Good spare ribs are hard to find unless you run across a good mom and pop place. There's a little Shack of a place on Geneva Road in Oviedo that serves excellent ribs.

May 10 is Coming -- Metro Orlando
Okay, Chowhounds, Mother's Day is coming and it's time for the annual "Where are we gonna go?" roulette.
Looking for good, affordable places for Mother's Day Brunch in the metro Orlando area. Personally would like as close to the east-side of town as possible.
The Sentinel had a list but they were all downtown or west-side and you needed a signature loan to afford it.
Here's one I'll throw out: In Tuskawilla area the Athen's Cafe always has a Mother's Day brunch. Some greek style food, omelettes to order, Mimosas, and a chocolate fountain. They end it early though and you better call soon for reservations as they are small and have limited space.
Anyone else?

50th anniversary party in Orlando area
Thanks for the responses. We ended up booking the conference area at a hotel near downtown, but not IN downtown. Having Dubsdread cater. Will keep you posted.
50th anniversary party in Orlando area
Can we update this for 2008? Native Orlandoan, but don't get around to the fancy places a lot. Parents are celebrating their 50th in May and my siblings and I want to get some kind of party going for them. We thought about a meal, but we are looking at about 80 people. Is there any places that specialize in this type of stuff that are reasonable?
In the spirit of the New Year: what's your fave diet-friendly resto/dish?

Gourmet grocery - Orlando ??
Try Cavallari Gourmet in Oviedo. Not as big a variety as Petty's, but good deli and meat counter and wine and cheese selections.
