It has been 9 months since I started this post and it is very nice that people are still responding to it. We are thinking going back for my 51st. My wife absolutely fell in love with this town!

I had brunch there last Sunday, and I'm sorry to admit, it was not up to par. First, there was only two buffet stations ( 1 hot /1 cold) and this is not sufficient enough to handle the amount of people. I made the mistake of getting cold items first, and when I went back to get hot entrees, the line was far too long to wait. The food was average at best. On my next trip, I'll make the adjustment and not go for the "deal" of a voucher included in my trip. Spend the money for a QUALITY brunch.

My wife and I are staying at Maison Dupuy for a 4 night stay next week. Our evening meal schedule looks like this so far:
Thurs: Something casual for good music with food after we arrive at 6:00 pm ( Three Muses was recommended)
Friday: Brigsten's
Sat: NOLA
Sunday: Open for suggestions ( something casual and good) Thinking GW Fins, or Red Fish Grill.
Monday: Central Grocery (Mufaletta's for the flight back to Calif.)

Thanks for the very detailed rundown of your trip. I'll be there Aug 11th-15th for my 50th and my wife made reservations at NOLA for my birthday dinner. Will be difficult to find good crawfish and oysters in mid-August?

We plan on renting a car on Saturday and driving. I hear its about a 2 hour drive. They have day tours from 9-5 during the day, and at 6, 7 and 8:00 in the evenings. Any points of interest or eats on the way there?

Thanks for the heads up on the Blazer for Brunch. I will take one just in case we go somewhere the requires it for dinner. I'll will get a copy the local periodicals as I'm not familiar with the local talent. I hear the The Funky Pirate has a good band.

I forgot to mention that I'm a musician and am looking for good live music in and around the FQ ( Staying at Maison Dupuy).

Booked a 4 day trip for my 50th this August. I know it will hot and humid, but I can deal with that ( cold beer usually helps). I need a few tips:

1. Dress Codes for and places Lunch during the hot and humid weather.
2. Dress Codes and Places for dinner: Casual or blaser. The wife is bringing dresses fit for casual to dressy for dinner. Cost: resonable $$-$$$
3. Sunday Brunch is set for Court of The Two Sisters ( i realize there are better, but it's FREE with the package I booked): Is a Blazer over doing it in Summer?
4. I'm always looking for the best: Po Boys, Gumbo, and all the NOLA eats.
5. My wife is BIG on history and the supernatural: Need tips on tours.
