Frank & Steins Orlando

Anyone eaten here yet? I know they specialize (almost exclusively) in franks.

I have been there for happy hour a couple times. The beer selection is pretty good. They have special Flight Nights for those looking to taste a few different new beers.

They also have SKEE-BALL!!! As well as a ton of board games and card games. Few things are better than a cold pint and some Operation, Connect for or Hungry Hippos.

Relocating to Orlando and a huge foodie

Some of your choices are a little confusing to me.

Bento Sushi, I found not to be as good as Shari.
Pita Pit is your Mediterranean choice? really? I love pita pit but wouldn't categorize it as "Mediterranean.

Lastly...Urban Flats downtown is NOT GOOD. Way tooo overpriced, food is mediocore at best and service isn't good. I generally don't complain or dislike many places but this place is a definate pass...

Of course this is just my opinion.

Best sushi in Orlando?

I haven't eaten at enough to really pick a "favorite" but I will say Shari is good IF YOU GO AT HAPPY HOUR. My gf and I go for HH every now and then. One day we decided to go but it was after HH and figured no biggie we will just get a few things. Well one look at the menu and you realize just how good their HH prices are. Needless to say we had 2 apps and left.

Orlando's most under-rated restaurant

Its my favorite, Enzos is expensive and Roccos is more stuffy (i feel). Il Pescatore is laid back more with a more homey feel to it and good eats at a good price (plus its downtown by my apartment).

Hawkers Asian Street Fare (Orlando)

Corpo,

Thanks for the review, I tried Hawkers Monday night cause of the review and you were spot on. This is definately one of my new favorite places.

I was so stoked to get the Crispy Roast Pork....but they were out :(

I did get the Curry meatballs and was really suprised at the outer texture of the meatball. I didn't expect such a nice "char" and outer crust...they were really good.

I also got the Bulgogi Banh Mi slider - which was awesome. I asked for Siracha cause, well Sirachi is good on anything especially a Bahn Mi. I do agree with the other reviews that there was quite a lot of bread on the Bahn Mi, but good bread, so I didn't mind peeling it off and eating it.

My gf also got the Stir Fry Udon with Chicken which was also great and had a char grilled flavor from the wok.

All in all it is a great restaurant with good prices, a huge beer selection and a ton of tasty treats. I can not wait to go back over and over....and hopefully get some Crispy Roast Pork this time!!!

Review of Hawkers in Orlando on Mills Ave

Went to Hawkers last night for the first time (thanks to this board) and man I am going back A LOT.

Going in I knew what to expect thanks to different posts and reviews I have read. I didn't study the menu too hard since I knew if I did I would order damn near everything on it. I really was looking forward to the Crispy Roast Pork, but unfortunately I was informed they were all out :(

I decided to just get the Curry Hawker Meatballs ($4) and the Korean Bulgogi Beef Bahn Mi slider ($6). My girlfriend had the Stir Fry Udon with Chicken ($6.5).

The meatballs (6 of them) came out first and were really good. I wasn't sure what to expect from curry meatballs but they were very crispy on the outside and crumbly/juicy in the middle. The curry sauce was not hot nor too heavy on the curry flavor which some poeple might like if they are not big curry fans.

The Stir Fry Udon was really good. The chicken was juicy and had a good charred grilled flavor to it, the noodles were cooked to perfection and there was not a lot of sauce. The only down side to the noodle dish was the lack of spice. The menu shows a pepper next to the item which signals heat to me, but there wasn't any spice to the dish.

And then there was the Bahn Mi Slider. First its not a "slider" as I see it. When I think Slider I think small little portion, this was a good 6 inch sub sized portion cut into thirds...which is a good thing for those scoring at home. The beef was delicious and with the addition of some always delicious Saracha the Bahn Mi did not disappoint.

As I said I will be going back over and over to try just about everything on the menu. For 2 people, 3 dishes and 1 beer the total was right around $20....damn good for dinner in Downtown.

Orlando's most under-rated restaurant

Not sure what part of Italy the family/food is from sorry. I usually go for more of the meat dishes rather than pasta (although the stuffed pastas are good). The Vitello Alla Pizzaiola and Pollo Di Stefano are my 2 favorites so far.

Best restaurant in the Orlando area?

Right now I am picking Il Pescatore downtown Orlando. Haven't been to RP yet but Pescatore is the most amazing Italian food IMO.

Orlando's most under-rated restaurant

My vote goes to Il Pescatore downtown Orlando. Best Italian food I have ever had. My gf and I no longer eat Italian anywhere but here. Maybe cause I am new to the board but doesn't seem to get mentioned a lot on here.
