My main was $27 and probably the most expensive main on the menu, hers was less as it was a pasta dish, I think ~$20, I can't remember how much the apps were. Our bill for two apps, two mains, two coffees, a shared dessert and the wine ($79 pre-tax) was roughly $190 after tax and pre-tip. I should clarify that I am not at odds on the cost of the food. It was quite good and worth it.

Affordability is not what I am at odds with here. I could have afforded to buy a crap bottle of Malvoire Foch that was equally marked up but whose base cost is lower. 250% on top of a lower list price yields a lower total price. My point was that the markups as a percentage of the base cost of the bottle is too high.

I hit Woodlot last night with my gf and I agree with a number of of folks suggesting good food and overall experience but poor value for the money. Here's the short view from my end:

the good: very well made food and a full veggie menu that overlaps with the main menu. GF had the papardelle with morels which was excellent as was my duck confit with maple glazed pork belly on white beans (attached), The starters were also very good.

the bad: we had what appeared to be a $20-$25 2009 Beaujolais for $78, so the markups are not kind and no BYO, also lack of depth on the wine list despite a decent number of bottles on the list

the ugly: they store their wine in the restaurant which has no a/c (at least not last night) - while they decanted the bottle for us I needed them to chill it in their fridge for close to 30 mins. It was probably ~ 22 Celcius when they brought it to us and by the time it had cooled enough we had finished our starters.

I enjoyed myself last night but the overall pricetag was too high for a repeat. Unless they implement BYO I will not return to Woodlot.
