Mexican Naples

Please help ..have been in Naples for a few seasons and have always thought that I could chat with some local Mexicans and find out the real Mexican hot spots..I have not scored. I am hoping that I can get some suggestions for a wonderful hole in the wall authentic place to visit in or around Naples.

That's awesome that Trader Joes has Kobe burgers. They really are not that unhealthy at all.

Great Butcher Shop In Naples

We are visiting Naples and tried a wonderful butcher shop http://www.jimmypsbutchershop.com which also has a lunch counter. Fabulous Waygu Beef. . I have bought the #3 strip loin steaks and it was the best I have ever had. It runs about $22 /lb but worth every cent. They also have the BEST Waygu ground chuck at $4.99 lb and makes the most succulent hamburgers we have ever had. Jimmy is passionate about his work and is happy to answer any questions you might have. Just so you know !

Stoned Stew Best of Bridge

Just a friendly suggestion for making this tasty stew..fresh mushrooms are WAY better and lots of them..I also use LOTS more onions than it calls for. It's great to cook on top of the stove, oven or crock pot..If you don't want to put beer in it you can use wine or even just more beef stock or consomme. Dark beer is best...Enjoy..that's the book that contains this recipe..

We ended up at Bonefish ..it was wonderful and the prices for the quality of food was amazing !! We even went back a second time the next week for their happy hour 1/2 price drinks and we had the "Bang Bang Shrimp" highly addictive.. wonderful service and a beautiful location.

Food trip in Ontario...

In Toronto http://www.manpuku.ca is cheap and cheerful. The curry udon , either beef or vegetable is AMAZING and a great deal at just 5.99. It is a huge portion. The place is not fancy but we drive from Burlington to have this !!!

In Niagara on the Lake http://www.notlgolf.com/clubhouse.html The lunch menu is pretty standard fare and reasonable for NOTL. The view is beautiful in every season as it is right at the mouth of the Niagara River.

Ottawa I always loved Fridays Roast House http://www.fridaysroastbeefhouse.com/menu.htm Wonderful ambiance..not too pricey..

I heard from a chef friend of mine that the lunch at the Chateau Laurier is very good and also reasonable. http://www.fairmont.com/laurier/GuestServices/Restaurants/Wilfrids.htm great service and a fabulous lunch buffet for 27.00 or you can order off the lunch menu.

Nice to see something positive about this place. It is a favorite of mine..we love going late night for the BEST cheesecake too..so wish it wasn't a 10 hour drive!
