Cioppino

They have it at The Fish Street near Yonge/Eglinton. I have no idea if it is authentic so I can't compare it to what you'd get in SF but I thought it tasted pretty good. The seafood in it was plentiful and fresh. It had scallops, shrimp, mussels, fish and mussels altho some of the mussels in it weren't very plump. It was $19 iirc

Sharing a steak in Toronto steakhouses

its' not gauche at all. I'm pretty sure the wait staff knows that if you are ordering anything over 12 oz, that it will be shared. I shared an 18oz australian wagyu and it came cut up in a large cast iron skillet. It was delicious by the way...easily best meal I have ever had!

Paradise Farms Cafe - Sheppard/Bayview area

Went with a friend on Friday. We had the kobe and the Ontario Highlander burger. They were both really good but I honestly couldn't tell the difference between the 2. I would skip getting the kobe burger imo. Pretty good toppings like caramelzied onions, sweet peppers, mushrooms and guacomole and they are free except for bacon and cheese which were 1.50 extra each. Nice to see that my burger was a little pink in the middle as well. Also had the onion rings and fries. Onion rings were really crispy and well done. Fries were tasty but they weren't very crispy.

It's a different type of burger from Burger's Priest and Holy Chuck but I'd rate it up with those 2. A little pricey but since it's a 5 minute walk from my place, I'd definitely be going back!

Romantic restaurant in North York

I haven't been in a while but Inakaya on Willowdale/Sheppard is a cute little date place. Very good fish from the grill. It's more of a 'fun' place than a quiet, romantic, fireplace setting that Auberge is tho. Food is great but service can be hit and miss. Sit at the bar if you can.

Outside of that, there' s not much outside of the chain restaurants in the areas you have listed as juno said. Maybe O&B in Bayview Village but I wouldn't consider it a romantic restaurant. If you're willing to travel south to Eglinton, there's numerous restaurants along Yonge/Mt Pleasant/Bayview that may fit your bill

Big Moe's Burger Review

I'd second TorontoTips review. I went for the first time on Saturday. Ordered the Juciy Lucy. I really enjoyed it! The burger had that nice crust and it was just oozing with cheese. Very flavorful too. Never had a problem with the seasoning. Not a big fan of their fries tho. I found it very greasy and I just prefer twice fried fries. It is cut fresh to order tho.

For this type of burger, I would rate it behind BP but ahead of 5 Guys like TorontoTips. Would definitely go back. Next on my list tho is Holy Chucks

Where to buy ground Buffalo or Caribou meat in Mississauga or GTA?

One of the butchers at St. Lawrence Market may have it. I can't recall the name of it but it was the one close to the wine store. It had camel, ostrich and kangaroo steaks so I'm thinking they might have what you're looking for.

Best Churrasco Chicken?

I went to try them based on this review a couple of months ago and I must say, you are correct in that the chicken was awesome. It was very juicy and moist with that wonderful grill flavour. Not a huge fan of the piri piri as I much prefer the one from churrasco villa on mt. pleasant/eglinton but that's just personal preference. I enjoyed it so much, I actually ordered a bunch of chickens for a birthday party I was throwing! Everyone was raving about it and the filet of sole was a big hit as well.

They seemed pretty organized when I went but I can see how there could be a language issue. It was very hard to understand what he was saying and there's no way I could have placed an order over the phone. Everything went very smoothly when I went to pick up my catering order tho

The Beast Tasting Menu - Whole Beast

Sorry for the stupid question but how does one order the tasting menu? Do you have to reserve in advance? If so how many days in advance? I would totally love to try this!

5th Element on Queen W at Portland

I think they've been offering it once a month for the past year..

I went there when they were on Bay Street a couple of years ago. They had a 2 for 1 deal going on back then. I remember being it pretty good for a fairly good price. $40 for 2 with a drink/tax/tip iirc. Haven't been recently tho

Best Thing You Ever Ate - Toronto

Went to Zen for the first time and had the sushi omakase. It was excellent but I had a "holy crap" moment when I ate the toro and scallop sushi. The black cod appetizer was amazing as well. Definitely going back again. I was pretty sad when they stopped giving us food!

Best Thing You Ever Ate - Toronto

I remember being blown away by the Khao Soi noodles at Khao San Road. GF and I wanted to lick the bowl at the end!

Mac & Cheese w/Ham at Gabardine was the best I ever had in TO (altho I admit I don't order Mac & Cheese much when I go out)

Road trip question – Gourmet markets in Toronto, dining in Kingston

Might want to check Pusateri's at Bayview Village since it's just off the 401 if you want a gourmet grocery store that is convenient for you. There's also an LCBO at that mall and a Loblaw's if you want a "cheaper" grocery store.

Please add to my list of good, cheap, inexpensive FOOD in Toronto (Downtown, Scarborough, North York, Markham/Rich Hill)...

Yeah, that Polish place is awesome! I love the chicken fingers when they have it fresh and the stuffed chicken is awesome (altho they sometimes put a little too much salt on it).

Quality kitchen supplies on the cheap...

Might want to check out amazon.ca. They have some pretty good deals sometimes and it's free shipping if your order is over $39 I believe
