Valentine's Day Breakfast in Bed

I have to say, the food on here usually verges on the level of porn, but that french toast looks horrible.

Slow Spirits

See Leopold's Distillery for a perfect example of great product made local. It's a shame that they had to close their all organic food and bar in Ann Arbor. They were eco-conscious before it was cool.

Kosher 5th floor

Just so you know Spertus Cafe is mediocre at best and downright awful if you consider the price. If you gotta keep Kosher I would look elsewhere.

High-End Tonic

The "fizz" actually stays longer if the bottle is refrigerated. Similar to other carbonated products, cooler temperatures keep more CO2 in the liquid. Increasing the temperature forces more CO2 out of the liquid and kills the fizz.

Help! Brunch in/near Rogers Park

Morseland on Morse just west off Sheridan is good. Nice quiet atmosphere, great coffee (plus full bar), and decent to very good food (depending on what you pick).

The Old Siam in Ann Arbor, Michigan

I eat a lot of thai food (I'm from Chicago where there's a ton of great Thai) and I can firmly tell you that No Thai is absolute garbage. And frankly, it's expensive for what you get. $8 for chicken pad thai that is bland as all hell? Please, please, do not call No Thai good thai food. Lotus Thai is mediocre, but better. The best in the area is definitely Tuptim (though it's in Ypsi).

"Diet" No Longer a Four-Letter Word

Of the mainstream diet sodas, Dr. Pepper makes the best one.

I don't know why my original post didn't come up but here's the basic idea. For a dinner bar in Roger's Park, check out the Morseland. Decent food, good wine and beer selection as well. The jerk chicken is great (yes great), the soups are always excellent (made from scratch), and the service welcoming. Seriously, it's a really good neighborhood bar. Regionally, it's not "Chicago" food, but I assure you it's the best choice for what you want.

Check out the Morseland on Morse (just west of Sheridan) for dinner at a bar. It's a great little place with good service and above-par bar food. Their soups are generally excellent and their beer list stand out as really good for a neighborhood bar.

Best buffalo wings near downtown??

As someone who lives in Ann Arbor I'm amazed you consider Mr. Spots any good. I grew up in Chicago and Buffalo Joe's, though it may be slipping, beats Spots any day. Maybe it was different when you were here, but they're atrocious now (and expensive).

Best Chicago Foodie 'Hood

Jbontario,
Though I agree many Northside neighborhoods are very homogenized, not all of them are. If you look at stats, by far the most diverse place in the city is Roger's Park. If you really want a huge amount of food choices with great variety, the edgewater/roger's park area is perfect. Mexican, indian, thai, vietnamese, middle eastern. Damn, now that I'm living in Michigan I miss home just thinking about all the good food! Plus, for pure living enjoyment (and price) IMHO, it doesn't get any better than RP.
