Brunch spots
Second the recommendation for La Duni. We also like Breadwinners, Cafe de Brazil, and Dream Cafe.
Panera Baked Potato Soup
Costco has Panera soups. I'm not certain if they carry the baked potato or not.
Rotisserie Chicken - want to make it at home - don't have rotisserie
I second the vertical roaster in the oven. I make CI's Peruvian Roast Chicken that way and its phenomenal.
Leap Day Anniversary Dinner - Looking for a Unique experience in Dallas area
You might check out the Rough Creek Lodge. I've read great things about it. If you check out the photos of the lodge and dining you can see where they have some private tables on the water. It would be a more rustic Texas type experience. http://roughcreek.com/photo-gallery/
Nana Dallas has the best city views of any restaurant in the area. You can reserve a window table and have a terrific view right up against a huge window. Tables are spaced well for privacy. There is also a terrific bar with beautiful views next door and they have live music. It makes for a very lovely evening. They do also do some molecular gastronomy.
You might also check and see if the Mansion still offers the private chef table experience.
Hotel St. Germain
Stephen Pyles-Fuego (molecular gastronomy)
Baboush-not sure if its in the category you are looking but from the review reads like it could be a very romantic place to have dinner and offers some private/banquette type dining you are looking for:

For something unique you might google both dinner cruise and dinner sail and you can see several options.
Business Dinner in North Dallas
Whiskey Cake
Nosh (they have a new location in Plano which is closer to your North Dallas area)
Houstons
First Charlie Palmer, now Nana.....
I'm so disappointed about Nana. We have eaten their many times and it was by and far our favorite restaurant in Dallas. I have no interest in going to a steak house when I go out for a romantic dinner. I give the new place 6 months or so. In the meantime, I guess that is our push to try some new places.
I will say last time we went to Nana in Oct. we were disappointed. Service was not up to par and they allowed people in the dining room with jeans, shorts and tennis shoes. We gave them a pass because it was the Arkansas/A&M game but we still weren't happy they sacrificed standards. Hopefully, after the steak house it will be returned to something great again.
What's for dinner? #121 - 2012 Introductory Edition! [old]
Wow! That sounds amazing! I'm under the weather so its take out Pho for us tonight. Had to scrub our plans for a prime rib dinner.
Your favorite freeze ahead meal recipe?
Its actually really easy to prep a lot of slow cooker meals for the freezer. Make them up until the point of cooking and freeze and then all you have to do is defrost the day before and pop in the slow cooker. I recently did this with a chili turkey recipe, but would also work well with lots of other recipes.
Meatloaf is another favorite freezer meal. Make it in muffin tins and then you can freeze individual servings. Meatballs are good for freezing too.
Can anyone recommend a good cookbook for a home baker?
Another good one is Baking From My Home to Yours by Dorie Greenspan.
Mexican Christmas/holiday Recipes Cookbook
Check out the Pastry Queen Christmas Cookbook. Lots of Mexican and Southwest inspired recipes.
Can anyone recommend a good cookbook for a home baker?
Baking with Julia is a great book.
Cookbook recommendation for a REAL beginner. I mean, a REAL beginner.
I would also recommend this book. The recipes are family friendly, there are illustrations where needed and the recipes come with detailed explanations.
ISO: Moist Corn Bread recipe
I really love Ina's Jalapeno Cheddar Cornbread recipe. You can leave out the jalapeno and cheddar if you just want it plain. I have made it both ways and its delicious.
Help me tweak my Black Forest Cake Trifle
Agree. You don't want the whole thing to either become so boozy tasting it will be overpowering or have a mish mash of too many flavors that won't be appetizing. The almond will highlight the flavor of the cherries. I would leave it at just adding 1 liqueur flavor to enhance not overpower.
Help me tweak my Black Forest Cake Trifle
If I was going to add anything I would use amaretto in the mousse and you could use that or almond extract in the whipped cream.
Best All-Natural, No Sugar Added Peanut Butter Brand
I like Earth's Balance creamy. Its mixed with agave instead of sugar. I t also has the added benefit of ground flax seeds.
Newbie cooking lasagna
I just realized you are in Canada. In the U.S. Newman's Own is widely carried. Your favorite jarred sauce will work fine. You can pick a sauce with basil or really any sauce with a flavor/herb combo that you like will work.
I think the spinach and zucchini would work fine together or just spinach alone would be great. If you use the zucchini I would roast it first.
Favorite Marinara Sauce in a Jar
I also like Rao's and use it when I want to splurge. For everyday I really like Newman's Own Marinara.
Newbie cooking lasagna
Lasagna is an extremely adaptable dish. You don't really have to follow a recipe. The no boil noodles will work fine. You could replace the veggies with ground beef or ground sausage or a mix of the two. If you use spinach, you will need about a 1lb to get a cup after cooking. You could also use zucchini or eggplant. You will be fine to use any flavor sauce you want. My favorite jar sauce is Newman's Own Marinara. You can buy bags of pre-shredded mozzarella. For the amount you need that would probably be easier. Sometimes I buy the Italian blend of pre-shredded cheese and that has parmesan in it too. Gives it more flavor with the mix of cheeses and then you don't have to buy both.
Good uses for pomegranites?
I make a salmon dish with the pomegranate juice reduced for the glaze and then sprinkle seeds over the finished dish.
Thanksgiving 2011: What's on the menu?
The Apple Cider Sangria was fantastic. I made it with a reisling and substituted cognac for the brandy.

PHO at home?
Pacific Organic just started making a boxed Pho starter that is sold with the other organic boxed soups. I just tried it and thought it was pretty good. Nice time saver to have on hand.
Stephen Pyles for a Romantic Dinner?
I really like the food at Stephen Pyles but I don't consider it romantic at all. Trendy, yes. For romantic in Dallas my first pick would the Nana at the Hilton Anatole.
