I don't believe that at 6:00 pm on a Sunday evening the vibe was about picking up anyone. It was about having dinner and there was quite a few families with older children having dinner there! |

We just got back from Montreal tonight. My husband, 5 year old son and myself had dinner at Garde Manger on Sunday, May 22, 2011. To be honest, we were a little nervous about the situation because of what we had read on the previous thread posted here about the subject. However, when I made the reservation I mentioned that there was a child, they argued the license but I argued back and asked why that was so. He then said fine your reservation is for three people at 6 pm. When we arrived they sat us with no problems. The staff went out of there way to make my son feel welcome. They were more than accommodating. When I paid the bill, I asked our server about this situation. She explained it quite well...Garde Manger is not a family restaurant like Applebees or St. Hubert but if a child does come to dinner with their parents then it's no problem at all. I do need to mention that my son is very well behaved and has eaten around the world at some very excellent establishments...including Le Grand Vefour in Paris. |
