Worthy Peruvian or Ecuadorian?

Taste of Peru is very good, the chicken is the best I've had. But, overall the food was pretty good. It is also very small and cramped as a result. A better Peruvian option is Ay Ay Picante on Elston Ave. Amazing ceviche, steaks, everything....It also has a nice outdoor patio area in the back along with plenty of seating up front. Also, it's BYOB! Ay Ay Picante. You won't regret it.

In Des Plaines for two nights this week - need recommendation

Having grown up in Des Plaines, I can say you're probably going to need to venture out just a bit to find a good restaurant...Des Plaines doesn't have a ton to do. I can recommend Paradise Pup on the corner of Des Plaines River Rd. and Oakton St however. They have amazing char-grilled burgers and hot dogs. It's a small shack next to a car repair shop, can't miss it. Rosemont has some decent options; McCormick and Schmick's, Harry Caray's, and if you drive west on Northwest Highway, downtown Arlington Heights has some nice restaurants.
