Having my first lobster fest at my house.... if you can ever lay your hands on the wild ones that look like blueberry bb's you will be amazed by the flavor punch they give. and try a little spice with them..cinnamon, nutmeg...Maine spices all their blueberry treats at least their natives do |

Fun in Phoenixville - dinner then coffee and musci I like irish & British food but this wasnt a cultural difference in tastes in why I say MM was horrible. Food was plain Yuck (greasy, canned ingredients...and service was like a whirling dervish that never got anything done just ran about like a chicken with her head cut off and personable....NOT. The hostress was warm and welcoming but from there they crashed and burned. |

How about a recipe...No Mix Needed. http://www.williams-sonoma.com/recipe/beignets.html?cm_src=RECIPESEARCH If ya want the mix go to the source it will be fresher. regarding whole foods and william sonoma I would call your local ones and ask...Wegmans Pfft! Forget it. If you have any gourmet stores near you call them too. here's the google link to the base search depending on your location I know it's obnoxiously long or google "gourmet food stores Philadelphia area" Good Luck! |

Moving to Eagleville/KoP need direction to great chow Sent the DH out to grab some take out...tried Zacarys BBQ in Norristown. Food was solid but needed a bit more seasoning. Brisket nice smoky flavor not overdone, not fatty and sauced. Corn Fritters were like sweet creamed corn puffs that were liquid inside. Cornbread was dry and grainy (baked items not their forte) Potato Salad very good!, Cole Slaw finally someone who does not over mayo it but could use a little upmh not sure if it;s a dash of celery powder or maybe vinegar but tasy and would get again. Ribs meaty tasty smoky with stiky sauce which I like, hubby was looking for a bit more zip. In General nothing is over seasoned or spiced but solid clean BBQ. |

Moving to Eagleville/KoP need direction to great chow I wanted to thank everyone for their input and let you know we got here in one piece and so far from the boxes we have unpacked so has most of our stuff. Been to Iron Hill in Phoenixville and enjoyed it very much was sent by a neighbor to kabuki and also to Daddy Mimms for Creole and the Black Lab. I am putting all the suggestions into the hat and we are gonna pick tonight and try somewhere new with my son and his girlfriend. Wegmans...not impressed yea its big but it has a ton of premade stuff and store brands. Cheese counter is better at Whole foods and I am going to be seeking the 2 cheese stores and the phoenixville farmers market out for something a bit less mass produced. I have been spoiled. Hoping to hit the wholefoods in the next few days. Still umpacking my cardboard habittrail but the eats and treats have made it bearable and the carrot at the end of our days. Iggy! |

Moving to Eagleville/KoP need direction to great chow I went to college in center city many moons ago. Had scrapple then and was not fond of the flavor or texture. As far as the bits...hot dog meats corn meal plus seasoning. I understand it's a regional thing. Growing up in pittsburgh I have a fond affection for fried noodles and cabbage and chipped ham bbq. In New England New England clam chowder is different from Rhode island clam chowder. Yes my reply was tounge and cheek...but my crinkled nose at scrapple is not going anywhere fast, Now kielbassa and the like have a different effect on me. texture and taste my friend. But please enjoy a piece of scrapple on my behalf and chuckle at how I am missing out. I am all good on this end aand your support is noted. :-) |

Moving to Eagleville/KoP need direction to great chow shopping as in favorite markets for quality foods and drink. I know my poor husband will be mourning the loss of his favorite beer store. he can mix and match singles for a 6 and they have loads of micro brews and imports. Bud and the like don't even enter the conversation. He will be learning all about buying by the 24 and going to the liquor store for his gin. Know about minado we have one here, I take sushi virgins there so they can try without guilt. I am going to miss my little local place. The owner is the sushi chef and his food is light and balanced and flavorul. His tempura is amazing yam, broccoli, onion are always cooked perfectly. We have whole foods here and yes I understand "wholw paycheck" :-) We are looking forward to tasting all the suggestions and please keep them coming! You guys rock and thank you. |

Marlborough, MA Greek Festival Never heard of it and I live in the town next door. I didn't know there were any greeks in Marlborough. |

Flo's Hot Dogs - huge dissapointment! Wasses is also in Rockland. Nice dog too. The things that makes dogs special are either if they are made local and not commercial or the preparation. Wasses to me is all about the prep. Yet to do the hot dog pilgrimage tour, still working on all the clam, crab, lobster shacks in New England all the great places I hope Food Network never finds! |

It's mail order or if in Vermont you can always stop by. Everything for baking you could want. Also check out Sur la table in Chestnut Hill they too come up with amazing stuff Call first on food items. Whole foods is good if you have a solid one near you. Williams Sonoma is always a last resort, stressing the words last resort. |

ewww last time I was in wellesley I went to tian fu and the food was gross, the place was dirty including the table cloths as well as the plates and glasses, when brought to the waiters attention he gave me a shrug of so what and did nothing to fix the situation. The older owners that I have seen there forever prior to this particular meal were absent and was replaced by a twenty something with an attitude of you are intruding on my texting by wanting a meal at this restaurant was at the main desk/counter. after crab rangoons were delivered to the table that were burnt and lacking any concept of crab inside (was an ode to philly cream cheese) I paid for the food which had arrived at the table and cut our losses and left. I had eaten at Tian fu for 5-6 years with no problem but this all stacked up was too much. Run and run far far away from this eatery. |

San Diego/La Jolla & Soccer Tornament this sounds AWSOME!!!!!!! my mouth is watering, We are traveling from Boston so I am looking forward to Pacific Seafood as I certainly eat my share in Maine, MA, RI & CT as we travel the coast. Iggy |

San Diego/La Jolla & Soccer Tornament We will have 1-2 team meals otherwise we are on our own or with a few other families. Our budget is super cheap to about $65 per person for the right meal (no bar drinks) I make him take a shirt and tie when we travel. We have some strict nutritional guidelines from the club & coach so healthy options to mix and match are a huge plus. What club does/did you son/daughter play for? Iggy! |
