Birthday Dinner?

Hi Everyone! I need your help once again. It is my mother's 60th (ahhh!) Birthday this year and I want to have a nice party for her. I am looking for a place to have a lunch or dinner party either saturday feb 28th or sunday march 1st. I'd like someplace that can accommodate a large group (10-12 people) without feeling overcrowded and preferably with a prix fixe menu so that I could take care of the bill beforehand and avoid everyone arguing about who is paying etc. I'd like to spend around $40-50 per person but am a little flexible with that price range. In terms of cuisine, the only things she doesn't like eat red meat, greek food, or indian food... other than that I am open to suggestions. I'm anxious to see what you all recommend!

Thanks for all of your help!!!

Lourdes

PS I would be willing to do something in Westchester as well as Manhattan if anyone has a particular favorite that fits the bill :)

Reasonable dinner for 2? (again)

thanks! I'll look into these!

Reasonable dinner for 2? (again)

Hi everyone! Around this time last year I posted looking for a nice place for a birthday dinner for 2 with a nice atmosphere that was reasonably priced for a med student (no more than $50-60 per person) and now it is birthday time once again so I am looking for more advice :) Last year we ended up going to Crispo and LOVED IT. It was the perfect suggestion and fell exactly within budget.

Any other genius ideas?!

Help! Brunch tomorrow!

sounds perfect! you've got me sold!!

Thanks everyone for all of your help :)

Help! Brunch tomorrow!

I had dinner reservations to take my mother out for her birthday tomorrow and it turns out she can only make it for brunch now!! I would like to go somewhere nice-ish, and if at all possible where I could call today and make a reservation... I don't want her to have to wait on her birthday.

Some suggestions I've gotten so far are olive's, cookshop, and deborah.

and (not that its necessary this be on the menu, but to give an idea) her favorite brunch food is crab cakes :)

Thanks!!!

Moderate priced French?

Anyone have any suggestions for a french restaurants that are decently priced and have a good atmosphere for a younger group? Budget is about $50 each including drinks and neighborhood doesn't really matter too much. Thanks!

Reasonable dinner for 2?

I have been to Cosette and Ethos, and you make a good point, both are good restaurants. I just meant that Murray Hill doesn't have quite the proliferation of great places to eat that some other parts of the manhattan have.

I'll definitely look into campanile though, I've been wanting to go there for a while now!

Reasonable dinner for 2?

We live in Murray Hill (definitely not the best place to find a nice meal) but the show we are going to is W. 30s.... I dont mind traveling a little just as long as its not super out of the way. As for cuisine... italian is always a favorite but he likes pretty much anything, literally :)

Reasonable dinner for 2?

Hi All!

I'm taking my friend out for a show as a birthday gift in october (starts at 11) and am looking for a decent restaurant for us to eat at beforehand without spending a fortune. Im on a medical student budget (so DEFINITELY no more than 50-60 per person) but I want someplace nice and appropriate for a birthday dinner. Cuisine is open except no asian or indian (thats what we eat most of the time and i want something different).

Thanks!!!!
