Keens, BLT Steaks or Strip House
i am also a fan of strip house over blt steak (never been to keane's). went to blt steak recently -- before i get to the food, i have to complain that the room was VERY noisy (bad acoustics, music was loud which caused everyone to yell). the steak was simply OK and the sides were small and somewhat uninteresting in flavor. the crowd sort of weirded me out as well -- it was kind of a middle aged pick up scene with tons of women who had major plastic surgery.
strip house, on the other hand, while somewhat rowdy doesn't feel loud once you are seated at your table. and of course, while you get your standard finance guys, it feels more mixed as jonasblank reports.
but the best thing about the strip house is the steak -- i've had both the porterhouse (can feed three!) and the ny strip. beautiful salty charring out the outside with completely buttery and rich meat inside. the sides are also good, and i would recommend the fries OVER the goose fat potatoes. don't miss the truffled spinach.
enjoy.

ciao bella on flatbush ave?
thanks! so not quite a hallucination ... perhaps he reeled in the awning while i was getting down on my franny's.
what a relief -- i was the subject of much criticism from friends as a result!
ciao bella on flatbush ave?
i walked up flatbush from atlantic going to franny's and definitely saw an awning that said "ciao bella ice cream" (on the same side of the street as franny's but closer to atlantic ave.). when i walked back down, i couldn't find the shop. was i hallucinating?
help!
