Restaurant Suggestions near Hyatt Magnificent Mile (formerly the Windham)

Hello fellow Chowhounds! We just booked a last minute trip to Chicago and I am now scrambling to grasp all there is to do and see and eat in this wonderful city! We are staying in the Hyatt Magnificent Mile (formerly the Windham) and have a 3 year old. I am looking for dinner suggestions within walking distance of our hotel (say less than 1/2 mile) that would be suitable to bring a well-behaved 3YO. Preferably moderately priced (less than $20 per entree) with a casual atmosphere that serves tasty food without breaking the budget. We are open to most food styles (Italian, Pizza, Sushi, Seafood, American, etc. etc.). I would LOVE to find a place that serves homemade pasta. Does Chicago have good seafood? We are landlocked her in Dallas and anywhere we can get some fresh fish is a plus!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Looking for personal favorites in the area.

Dinner suggestions near Marriott Desert Ridge

Okay, so fellow Chowhounds ... I searched the boards under "Ridge" as suggested for the past five years and I am still at a loss. Most of the suggestions I have found are fine dining and would not be appropriate for a three year old. The only options I have found so far that we don't already have in Dallas are Pita Jungle and Humble Pie. Surely this is not all that Phoenix has to offer in terms of tasty moderately priced fare????? Please help! I have always gotten great responses from fellow Chowhounds when trip planning and I could really use some help. What am I doing wrong here? Thanks in advance to anyone who has pity on me!

Dinner suggestions near Marriott Desert Ridge

Looking for some yummy dinner options near our hotel (JW Marriott Desert Ridge). We love supporting tasty local establishments (no chains) and are seeking casual, reasonably priced food within 15-20 minutes driving from our hotel. We will have a well-behaved 3 year old with us, so something kid-friendly is a plus. Any suggestions?

Best Italian in St louis

Okay, so we are going to try Stellina as it looks the most kid-friendly. Here is my follow up question - looking for a different restaurant that serves the typical toasted ravioli with maybe a tasty salad option. Any suggestions?

Best Italian in St louis

From dallas and heading to St Louis next weekend. I have heard that St Louis has great Italian, but have yet to find any on prior trips (besides the toasted ravioli which is delicious). Any recommendations for a budget friendly Italian restaurant that serves the kind of Italian food that is so good you want to take pictures of it? Preferably fresh homemade pasta and not the standard tourist trap type places, please. We will be traveling with a well-behaved three year old so kid-friendly places are preferable. Doesn't' have to be on the Hill. We are staying near the airport but are willing to drive for good food.

Thanks so much!

Siesta Key - Good lunch spot within walking distance of the beach

Thanks! That would be very helpful. Regarding the prior post with recommendations. What are the names of the delis so I can look them up on a map? I have Anna's, Village Gourmet, and the Siesta Market. What is the name of the place on Calle Miramar and the shop associated with the fancy restaurant that sells the donuts?

Siesta Key - Good lunch spot within walking distance of the beach

Hi Suzigirl,

Your response is well timed! We actually postponed our trip until August for personal reasons and are re-booked for the first week of September. I am going to look into all of your suggestions as they sound perfect for what I am looking for. We just potty trained our toddler so a close bathroom is now an absolute must Lol!

Siesta Key - Good lunch spot within walking distance of the beach

Hi Chowhounds!

So, our trip to Sarasota is fast approaching (first week of June). Our first day on Siesta Key Beach, we are meeting up with some friends at the beach. I am trying to figure out where on the beach we should settle that is near restrooms and good food so we don't have to leave the beach. Can anyone suggest a good meeting spot that is within walking distance to a tasty lunch spot? We will have 4 kids under the age of 5 with us so preferably a counter service versus waitstaff. Something we can grab and bring back to eat on the beach is even better! Deli, sandwiches, fish, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Date Night - Classic California Cuisine?

Hi Chowhounds!

Well, we have made a decision. I have reservations at NOPA. I showed my hubby the menu for Zuni and Nopa and he went with NOPA. Can't wait to get to SF soon!

Lunch after Alcatraz on the way to Golden Gate/Fort Point

Civil Bear - thanks for the tip about searching for Marina and Cow Hollow districts. I found some interesting options over on Chestnut Street that I'm going to look into - Tipsy Pig, Lucca Deli, Blue Barn, and Kara's Cupcakes - that may work for our lunch. If you have any favorites, let me know!

Hi singleguychef - just wanted to give a big THANKS for taking the time to write this! For a fellow chowhound perusing the boards for food options for our upcoming SF trip, your post was extremely helpful in understanding the food and the neighborhoods where they are located!

What are the best Burgers and Steaks in the Downtown Dallas are near the Omni Hotel??

I second Bob's Steak & Chop House, but I would splurge on a cab and go to the original location on Lemmon avenue which is not far from your hotel. Best steak (arguably) in Dallas.

Brunch spots

I second crossroad's diner - their sticky buns are amazing. La Duni Latin Cafe also has an excellent brunch. Locations across the metroplex. Breadwinners is also a good brunch staple.

Date Night - Classic California Cuisine?

Yes - I thought Aliza looks yummy. Will maybe try to convince hubby. He's not normally this paricular. He nixed Chez Panisse due to location. I think I am leaning towards Zuni now since it is consistently good food, good atmosphere, and not too pricy. I may just stop asking him to look at menus and just pick something and tell him it is a surprise. Lol!

Date Night - Classic California Cuisine?

Hi! Thanks SO MUCh for the recommendations ... Y'alI are a great help! I tried to make reservations at Gary Danko and they only have 10pm seating for the days we are there. So, that's out since we are early bird eaters (last time I ate at 10pm in DFW, I found myself napping at the table rather than enjoying the food. LOL!) Zuni and Chez Panisse are still in the mix and it is good to hear that Zuni does things other than roasted chicken well. I'm still on the hunt, though. About to check Boulevard, Local Mission Eatery, and Canteen...

Okay, so here is my follow up question on Zuni. From what I can tell on Yelp, it is all about the roasted chicken. If we don't want to eat chicken, are the other dishes just as tasty?

Thanks for the heads up on the atmosphere. It doesn't have to be fancy white tablecloths. We are more concerned with the food quality than the frills.

Date Night - Classic California Cuisine?

Okay - so for Chez Panisse - do you do the restaurant or the cafe? The restaurant looks like you only have one option for dinner each night and the cafe is more of a standard menu. Is there a difference?
