TOP SUBS in SOUTH FLORIDA (Miami, Ft Lauderdale) The Sandwicheer in Hallandale. Don't know where they get it but they have real Italian Semilina bread. Can't stand the soft pasty bread @ Sub Center. The breads @ Lorenzo's and Doris are ok but not the real thing! but they are decent. |
Try Texas De Brazil I know they have rooms @ Gulfstream. Don't know about down south. |

LOve it, just bring your earplugs with a couple of hundred people smashing golden and dungeness crabs. Also don't miss out on their conch chowder! |
I know it's last minute, but anyone know of any Chinese restaurants doing banquet diners for the Chinese new year? |
Problem with the Hallandale location the 5.55.6.66 and $7.77 dollar specials at 5,6 and 7pm any pizza depending on the hour and the rug rats it produces! |

Dirt cheap (yet quality) lunch/dinner in Fort Lauderdale? Love Tarks, But going for the cheapest of the cheap and also one of the best places around Noor's Bakery. Everything $1.50 to $4.00 made fresh to order. While picking up an assortment of Zataar breads with different topping to go, while on Angler's Lane you might want to try some of the Lunch special's at the Rustic Inn! |

this must be my week for bad food. After not being able to get into uncle liu's, a Hungarian restaurant in Sunrise without a reservation Decided to go to China Pavillion for dinner. Last time I went we had the Lobster over vermicelli and beef chow fun. Both were excellent. This time Hot and sour soup out of balance terrible with no hot or sour. Roast pork app was stringy like you would get at a bad buffet. The best thing I could say about the lamb in a clay hot pot was that the tofu skins were good. the sauce put me off and what little lamb was on the large chunks of bone were stringy and not very flavorful. The chicken in black bean sauce also had problems. It was served with sauteed red onions peppers and tomatoes that totally overpowered the light black bean sauce which you could not taste. The chucks of chicken were actually larger then the awful chicken breast sandwiches served up at the Poker room at the Hard Rock. |

YUCK!!!Recommended by someone on the board. I had eaten here a few times before the new owners put in a pita oven! So decided to go for a quick 58 minute lunch! 12:40 only 2 people working the floor paying more attention to takeout then people eating. No one sits me so I seat myself! 14 minutes later get menu! waiter takes 10 minutes to pour a cup of soup! |

Help! Top Notch Chinese Needed Just moved over the weekend needed to restock my supplies @ New York Mart stopped into Pine Court bistro for dinner. Lobster over vermicelli and beef chow fun both excellant! |

Great No-miss in/near Hollywood restaurants So are any of the other locations on a pier over the ocean??? You wouldn't catch me dead in any of the other locations! The recommendation was for the view not the food and as such I think it is a new institution (on the PIER). While I am relying Mama MIa really!!!!! next we will be telling people to go to Carrabas for Italian! |

Great No-miss in/near Hollywood restaurants my problem with Kabobji is that they do not serve fresh pita bread. They serve day old Lavash in plastic bags and you have to beg them to nuke them to warm them up. I'd like to add a new Florida institution, not so much because the food is great (slightly better then average bar food) but because of the view! Quarterdeck just opened up on the Dania pier! In all of South Florida you would be very hard pressed to come up with a better view! Sand and surf to the F!lorida inlet and other the South side as far as the eye can see. In and outdoor dining! |

Looking for decent Bakery (Bread) I found a couple of places. Matryoshka Is a Russian Grocer that opened in Sunny Isles 182nd street . They make a great German bread there. They do not sell the bread alone and I don't know where they get it but The Sandwicheer on Atlantic Blvd in Hallandale has the real deal semolina bread for hero's . I don't believe I'm saying this but the old world county Rye at the Publix on Hallandale beach blvd ( have tried it at others just not the same) is pretty dam good! |

Dairy Belle gets their curd flown in Daily from Wisconsin. Try their Pouline! (Fries Gravy and curd) if you like it see if they will make a special purchase for you! |
Only been to the Pizza Rustica in Hollywood and it sucks. Pizza At Anthony's all depends on how busy they are and whos slinging the pies... consistency has really gone downhill since they franchised. As far as no sauce for the wings.... DO YOU LIKE YOUR BBQ WET OR DRY LOL |
New contender opened a couple of weeks ago. Pita Pockets 2727 Hollywood Blvd. The best Chicken Shawarma and Lentil rice . Owners real friendly and will let you taste everything! |
I Stopped into a little hole in the wall next to one of other favorite hole in the Walls. The Sandwicheer on Atlantic Shores Blvd between the 7 11 and Eltamarindo's. The special of the day was a meat ball sub and they said they had Italian bread. They do not even know what they had. It was a seeded Semolina bread that would make any bakery in Brooklyn proud! Prices pretty cheap too! Place clean enough to eat in! |
I've see it @Home depot 441 and Pembroke. Don't know if they still have it tho. |
Sorry for the typo it's Sardelli |
Not a TImo fan (I'm in the minority) Cannot recommend Fulvio's without Scardelli. Same Family add steaks and if your party is large enough you might get a private room with a balcony facing the ocean! |
Noor Bakery (On anglers lane just north of Griffen) is one of my favorite places but they do not serve Falafel. Great fresh food and everything $1.50 to $2.50. While we are on the subject of Al Salam. Truluck which closed almost a year ago just bought out the Pasha grill just next door to Al Salam |
only been to 2 of the 4 Pita Plus is one of my favorites! sunrise grill I have not been to in about 5 years. From what I can remember the food was good but the door to the bathroom was so dirty, black and gross that I was afraid to go in and never went back! |
I know people go to Joe's for their Stone crabs and take out fried chicken but Ihad one of my worst dining experiences there! Forget the 3 hour wait and the Amex card that went missing for 2 hours! |
Really, really, really good chicken wings? Check out Sicilian Pizza Oven (aventura) manager from Anthony's (Aventura) cooks from El Tamarindo Coal fired Pizza. Best of both worlds with more better caramelized onions. |
Yes and no... coming from the beach 163rd becomes 167 around the curve by Publix I believe. stop in tho. |
We have a new contender! Bo Leg’s BBQ. Strictly takeout. in a truck on 167st between NE 2nd and 3rd. open 4pm to 10:30 Wed to Sat. In the parking lot of a coin laundry South side of the street. No place to sit but the best ribs I ever had ate them with the hot BBQ sauce. Still love Georgia pig for chopped sandwiches but this blows Tom Jenkins off the map! |

Decent Supermarket Tomato - Found at Last? Will check it out but in 7 years down here the only tomato that I have had that could hold it's own to Jersey beefsteaks are the tomatoes served in the little side salad @ Grandpa's. The owner says he gets them from some place near Tampa! |

First off as an old surfrat from up north bluefish in the 1.5 to 2.5 range are sweet as sugar. It's the larger blues that have been feeding off bunker that have an aweful taste. Fresh is always key. Mackeral when super fresh is great but try and find it in Florida. Yellowtail super fresh $4 lb whole out of a 110 gal ice chest,Presidente supermarket and they filet it and give you back the bones and head to make stock! |
Tarks of Dania Beach. I like the Hot with garlic, great taste... The terminator is hotter but just too much for my taste (with the garlic!) |
Fried Seafood suggestions FLL area Take them to Rustic INN The seafood gets lost among the crabs/ But they usually have a pretty good selection/ They will cook it anyway you want it and it's miles above catfish dewey's |

LIke I said I've been going midweek when there are only a few tables going. World of difference when they are slammed! |
